I was in Flagstaff from August til December and you actually need to bring clothes for all 4 seasons to cover that period! Weather varies from sunny to munsoon rain to thick layers of snow. Amazing!
Ancient Indian Ruins

You will feel as though you are walking off the beaten path... or at least on a long-ago beaten path when you walk among the various Indian pueblos that dot a concentrated area northeast of Flagstaff. These include the Wukoki, Wupatki, Lomaki, Nalakihu, Citadel, and Box Canyon dwellings. Some of the pueblos are more preserved than others, and some indeed look quite elaborate for a community that made its temporary stake here in an otherwise seemingly desolate desert landscape.
To get there, it is the same road as going to the Sunset Crater Volcano. From Flag, take 89 North about 12 miles, then turn right at the sign for the crater and for "Wutapki Pueblo Ruins." Once on that road, it is about another 18 or 20 miles beyond the Sunset Crater Monument. The road makes a loop and comes back to 89, only 15 miles north of the first, south entrance.

In summer, this is possible.... drive up to the lodge on Humphreys Peak, as if you're about to go skiing! Then start making your way to the top of the mountain! :) It's pretty steep and continuous the whole way up, and it gets colder near the top, so remember provisions if you decide to do this ... warmer clothing and water. There's snow up there too, at least in June. I recall a bighorn sheep being spotted above treeline! At any rate, there may be a better trail if you want to do this... but even if you don't go to the top, you can still get some great views by just going up a little.

Dara Thai is my favorite restraunt. It's a great place to go if you want a good, sit-down meal where they will really cater to you with elegance, but not all the fanciness that comes with a big-city, big-name restraunt. In other words, you can go there in a dress and tux, or you can go there in your NAU sweatshirt and a pair of jeans.
I love the atmosphere there. Everyone walks around with black shirts and white writing on them that say 'Got soy?' or 'Got tofu?' The manager is really nice and he likes to go up to tables to ask how everyone is doing. Prices there aren't that bad, but it can get pricey for parties that are really large. It's really like any other Thai restraunt that offers different degrees of hottness. I personally like things extremely hot, and they don't dissapoint me. Also, if you're vegetarian or vegan, they will go out of there way to change the recipe, from cooking it without butter to replacing all the meat with tofu. My new favorite is the Pinneapple fried rice. Mmmmmm, nothing better on fried rice without egg but pinneapple.
