Unique Quality: Fountain Hills, a suburb of Scottsdale, is much less familiar to travelers than its larger neighbors, Phoenix and Scottsdale which are about 20 miles to the southwest. The Inn at Eagle Mountain delivers a golf experience that rivals the city's well-known resorts and golf is the best, but certainly not the only reason you would want to visit this fine hotel. There are 43 Santa Fe-style suites all of which overlook the 18th hole of the resort's Scott Miller-designed Eagle Mountain course. Rated among the nation's top 50 public courses by Golf World readers, this challenging par 71 winds 6,800 yards through the desert scenery of box canyons and saguaro cacti. There's also an outdoor pool and hiking trails in nearby McDowell Mountain Regional Park. The Grille at Eagle Mountain is great for breakfast or lunch but does not serve dinner. As if you needed a reason to head to Scottsdale and experience the city's restaurant scene, this should be more than adequate.
