Travel Tips for Glendale

if you are a wwII history buff....

by azminivanracer

ok...if you are REALLY bored. and are REALLY into WWII history...drive west on the I-10 from phoenix as if you were headed to los angeles...head north on rout 95 until you come across a ghost town by the name of Poston. Poston was the site of three War Relocation Authority camps; of the three camps, the only one with significant remnants today is Poston I (the main one), located about 0.1 mile west of the main intersection of Poston (on AZ 1 on the C.R.I.T. Reservation). Only a concrete platform remains of Camp III (visible from AZ1), and only the main cistern of Camp II (also visible from AZ1). There is a major monument just south of the fire station in Poston, on the east side of AZ1 with additional information.
REMAINS: In Poston I, there are several barracks buildings, the gymnasium, and other buildings still standing (some inhabited by poor members of the C.R.I.T.). Poston was chosen as the site of three "War Relocation Authority Camps" for Japanese Americans interned under President Roosevelt's Executive Order 9006. The Colorado River Relocation Center, which operated from April 1942 to March 1946, housed about 18,000 individuals, and was the third largest city in Arizona at the time. Those interested in additional information may visit the University of Arizona's Website on the subject: www.library.arizona.edu/wracamps

its really interesting if your bored and like history...like me.

At JumpingTWINS 6th Bday party, Feb 2010 Arizona

by Jumping

We just had an amazing party this wonderful afternoon on Valentine's Day for the JumpingTwins 6th birthday party - it was also Chinese New Year Day (Year of the Tiger) and also a Sunday!

The party was a success and we had over 100 guests at a hotel near our home (we did not want to clean up the mess after a party so we looked for an outside location, lol)!

As the guests were leaving, I waited for them outside at the patio and urged them to JUMP, lol...here are some of the jumping results :)

See more JUMPING during this wonderful party - next travelogues below

....or just click here :)

The original JumpingNorman homepage
already has over a thousand jumping pictures
and hopefully this new homepage will have more (being strictly just for jumping!)
