Itīs got shady sites as well as dusty and grassy ones. īThereīs a gas station, a supermarket and a bakery next to the campground and you can just go across the road to the IMAX. The bakery has internet access.

A Cabin was adequate!: Lodge at the North Rim
  • Satisfaction:
  • The lodge at the North Rim has a very limited amount of rooms. I think these get booked up long in advance. We made reservations in May for September and got a cabin. We wer two couples and shared a common and shared one duplex cabin.

The room was comfortable and cozy. A little rough around the edges but this ain't the Plaza! After driving, hiking and hanging out we were to tired to care.

Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn: Good location
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's a very nice facility, great for kids. Happy hour in the bar for the parents and the kids can play pool at the same time. The pool was closed when we were there in March since snow was still on the ground. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful except for one desk clerk. She had a bad attitude and acted put out when we first arrived and asked about an early check-in and for information about park entrance fees.

My parents said their king bed was terrible, saggy in the middle. Mine (queen) was very good. The rooms are very large with refrigerators and microwaves.

It's just about an 8 minute drive to the entrance of the Grand Canyon park. Very convenient. And it was kind of nice not to be staying right inside the GC village with all the crowds. Tusayan is a small town with a couple of restaurants and shops.

The hot breakfast buffet that came with our rooms is a great deal, lots of food and choices.

We booked on Hotels.com and paid about $107/night plus tax.

Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn: Good stay and close to the park entrance
  • Satisfaction:
  • We stayed here for 1 night in Nov 2001. The place is very well run, the rooms are very clean, tastefully decorated and the beds are comfortable.
The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. We ate the buffet breakfast, which is included with the room price (lots of fruit and choice of eggs, waffles and other food items).
The location can not be beat! You are so close to the park entrance! I would definitely stay here again with no hesitation.

Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn: Very Disappointed
  • Satisfaction:
  • When we went into our room, I immediately noticed hairs in the bathroom near the shower, on the toilet, and in the sink. This level of cleanliness was unacceptable to me, so I walked across the parking lot to the front desk where we had checked in. At that time, I also mentioned that the toilet wouldn't flush properly, so a maintenance worker was sent to the room to fix the problem. The associate at the front desk was kind enough to show me two other rooms, but I pointed out to him that they both had the same cleanliness issues. In good faith, I returned to my room and was about to go to bed since it was late. I saw a hair on the pillow, and as I pulled down the comforter, I saw - literally - a clump of hairs in between the blankets, too. I was in complete disbelief, so I took a wad of tissues and brought what I found to the associates at the front desk. They weren't very sympathetic and gave me their manager's card. When I took a shower, I noticed brown spots on the shower curtain, and I observed that the water pressure was terrible. The halls in the hotel were carpeted, and it seemed to me as if they hadn't been vacuumed in quite awhile. The furniture in the room was chipped, the upholstery was dirty, and the carpet was stained.

It wasn't at all what I expected. The lobby was relatively nice, but it looked as if was undergoing renovations. In my opinion, it wasn't kept up as it should have been. The continental breakfast required vouchers that were given to us when we checked in. I browsed the selections on the first morning, and there were many rich choices. There was some fresh fruit, but it was already sliced, so it was impossible to grab anything and go. There wasn't any whole fruit, yogurt, granola bars, or cereal boxes. We were in town to hike the Grand Canyon, so we didn't want to waste time at a sit down breakfast. The room had a decent hair dryer, as well as a dispenser in the shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was also lotion in a dispenser by the sink. There were plenty of tissues, but there weren't any q-tips. When we were checking out, I explained the cleanliness issues to the supervisor. She was much more sympathetic than the previous associates, and she compensated me accordingly. I was grateful that we only needed the hotel for sleeping since we were there to visit the Grand Canyon. The location of the hotel was very near the entrance of Grand Canyon National Park, which was one of its only positive attributes. I hope future guests at the hotel have better experiences, especially with the cleanliness of the rooms.

]Las Vegas, you should make a brake to take an overnight stay at the Grand Canyon. The contrast between human artificial paraphernalia (at its best in Vegas) and the tranquillity of nature in the canyons, will surely strike you and make you think. And thinking it's really the best sport. Brigth Angel Hotel right at the edge of the canyon, or Maswik Lodge , some steps aside (more expensive), are peaceful solutions.

Fully integrated with nature and landscape.

The night before Scott and I hiking to the bottom of the grand Canyon we stayed at the Bright Angel Lodge. Older, smaller rooms. The upside is you are right next to the rim.

Bright Angel is a stone's throw away from all the shops and places to eat too. If you don't call early enough it will be booked up.

Close to the rim with some history on its side.

I stayed in June of 2008 at one of the Bright Angel Cabins. We were only 50 to 75 feet from the edge of the rim! You don't have to go far to check out the sunrise or sunset.

The next morning at 6 a m I walked down the path to the edge of the rim and I was startled by a noise behind me. It was a mule deer. She took her time walking to the edge and then slowly went down the rim into the steep canyon.

The rooms have a TV, my room only had one bed (double), small fridge. You are paying for the viewand location! It was worth it for one night.

    Right by the rim.
