Obliged stop on the 66.
"What is Holbrook."
Holbrook is located inside the Navajo County and it's an important stop on the 66 route. The town was founded in 1881 when the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad arrived and named the town after the chief engineer, Henry Holbrook.
Well, besides having an interesting history back in the 1800 and 1900 and even looong ago when you visit the navajo reservation or even beeefoooreee when you visit the petrified forest.
We found that Holbrook will be an obliged stop for everytime we visit the area. We have ended in a campground where we now feel more identify with. That doesn't mean that one day I will return to drink a cup of coffee in one of the cafes nearby.
I think Holbrook is a little bit more than a stop to see the petrified forest, it also have something else:
Visit their Museum, it really contains a very good amount of artifacts, articles and very very old devices used by the inhabitants a while ago and one exhibition is from a lot more than a while ago.
Or, if you want to keep driving around, you can also see:
Painted Desert Wilderness
or Rainbow Forest Wilderness

Hubbell Trading Post - 'bullpen' with old stove
Petrified Forest Nat. Park - Painted Desert
Blue Mesa - stunning scenery
Crystal Forest - 'sawed' into pieces
