England In The Desert
"Speeding the lake"
Lake Havasu formed after the Parker Dam was constructed. It's now a small city in the desert with lots of recreational activities; boating, fishing and sightseeing. Speedboats are in charge of the water as well as the streets in town.
In 1968, when it began to sink into the River Thames, London sold its original London Bridge to Robert McCulloch, the founder of Havasu City.
It took another 3 years to dismantle, ship and rebuild the bridge.
It's the main attraction in Lake Havasu City, together with its Tudor style English village.

Who would have thought that the London Bridge would wind up in the desert of Arizona in the USA.
Most water sports are enjoyed here or you can rent a houseboat.
Actually the bridge was placed first and the lake was dug and filled after.
