Falcon Field RAF training 1941-1945
Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona was the home of No4 British Flying Training School between 1941-1945 flying Stearmans and Harvards. see http://www.mesaaz.gov/falcon_field/pdf/praised.pdf
All that is left of those days is the swimming pool & BBQ, and a chimney breast which was part of the cadets lounge. A number of ex RAF pilots visit the airfield and an official ceremony was held by the Mayor of Mesa in May 1991. Jim Dawson an American has written a book on Falcon Field
Champlin Fighter Museum which was based at Falcon Field has had its exhibits moved to Seattle to make way for a new Jet Fighter Museum which is due to open in 2005.
