It's hard NOT to tour the tabernacle. If you stroll around the grounds, you will be repeated approached by squeaky clean young people wanting to show you around.

Last I knew...the Tabernacle was still free to get in and you didn't have to be a member of the church to view. You do, however, have to be a member of the church to get in to the Temple. But it's just as stunning outside.

There are several other buildings (or at least that I can remember) on Temple Square to visit and you don't have to be a member to visit those either.

Enjoy your visit!

Its a nice interesting tour but they do want to get your address to either send you written info or arrange a home visit. They are missionaries after all

Travel Tips for Mesa

Packing List

by Sexybear

For those of us who live in Mesa it gets cold in the winter, but if your visiting bring summer clothes no matter what time of year it is. Me and my husbands first time out here was in late Nov. and we went swimming on Thanksgiving day!Now ofcourse it is too
cold, but not if you're visiting. The only downfall is the snakes and scorpians if your out hiking make sure you are prepared with a first aid kit and DO NOT GO ALONE OR LEAVE THE PATHS. A ton load of film. People don't think there is much to see in the desert but TRUST ME IT IS VERY PICTURESQUE!

See Unusual Contemporary Art!!!

by jumpingnorman

Just across the Natural History Museum is the Mesa Contemporary Arts (built 1976 and renovated)-- a wonderful place with 5 galleries showing contemporary art by international and getting-famous artists. The entrance fee is only US$3.50 and so, people usually swing by from the more expensive Natural History Museum --- you see Dads with strollers crossing the street (I was like that before - thank God the twins don't use strollers anymore!).

Just to name one of the shows --- For Feb 2009, what they had was an artwork exhibit inspired by TATTOOS and then there was also an exhibit on cars - LOWRIDERS.

Definitely a nice place to spend time around in when in Mesa!

Hours of Operation:

Thursday - Saturday: 10am-8pm
Sunday: 12pm-5pm

Admission:
Admission $3.50
