looking or suggestion

by mannheimg

My wife has become an avid CUB fan over the past three years. Hence, I would like to take her out cold Chicago during Baseball spring training period. I would like to focus it around the CUBs in Mesa. can you suggest
1 dates that would be best to visit and take in a few games.
2. Hotels or tour packages directed at cub fans.
3. Other activities in the area

Thanks

Gaby,

Dobson Ranch, http://www.dobsonranchinn.com/packages.htm, is the place you and your wife will want to be. It is the Spring Training home for the Cubs. The link I provided has a great package.

Travel Tips for Mesa

Lost Dutchman State Park

by intelligentsia

Camping and hiking among the giant saguaro cactii outside of Mesa, AZ. It's a cheap, fun, and romantic way to get in touch with nature after enjoying a Spring Training game.

The sunsets are beautiful, campfires are allowed, shower facilities on-site - look out for pseudo-scorpions!

LDS Mormon Temple

by BruceDunning

This is a large complex made up of the sanctuary and connected annexes. This is a working community and one special attraction yearly for visitors is the Nativity Scene and Christmas Lights show. They decorate to the hilt, as the pictures below show. Hundreds of thousand of lights make up the color illumination. Thousands of people come to see the wonder over the 20+ day event.

They have one million visitors come annually, and the grounds includes a large reflection pool, and cactus garden on this 20 acre compound.
The temple was first completed in 1927, and renovated in 1975.
