Visitor Center
by BruceDunning
This seemed like a "second thought for the city" The center is located about two blocks from corner of Main & Center streets, and in one the administrative buildings. We went there for information, but it seemed like the employees knew little about what is in the city, and more focused on city admin business. Or, in other words, they took visitors casually and seemed not to care if they helped much, nor were informed On center Street, 2 blocks north of Main
Contemporary Art Center
by BruceDunning
The main feature here is the theater that holds events and shows for the public throughout the year. That is the large building in the middle of the complex. The art center is actually in the basement of another building, and has 5 galleries that feature mostly local art talent. We thought the $3.50 was barely worth the short tour. Unless you like some certain artist works, you can breeze right through the small galleries in quick fashion.
Cost is $3.50, and open generally 10-5 Tuesday through Sunday. There is a small gift shop on ground level that maybe you can find a "treasure"
Superstition Mountains
by BruceDunning
This area is about 10 miles from mid Mesa. It is along Apache Blvd, then on to Hwy 88 north. The mountains stretch for the whole length of Hwy 88, but it stops just after Tortilla Flat at mile marker 222 at around Apache Lake.

A part of the Phoenix Metro area, and my wife's hometown. A very exciting town with too many things to do. Urban fun (day and night), quick day trips to the desert, mountains, or small towns. Can't wait to get back there.
