I recommend if you choose to...

I recommend if you choose to visit the Navajo people and some of the picturesque Navajoland, that you consider staying in Page, Arizona. The City of Page is located in northern Arizona on the Utah's southern stateline, just off the Navajoland's north-western border and serves as a hub to surrounding Navajoland and seven different National Parks or Recreational areas. Contact the Chamber Of Commerce at (928) 645-2741. You can make day trips from here and return for some local night-life or cultural events.
Consider calling Kim at Days Inn (928) 645-2800 or Frankie at Quality Inn (928) 645-8851 for further recommendations on local lodging accomodations.
There are also places where one can stay with native families and experience the native lifestyle, but bear in mind this could mean no running water, no electricity, sleeping on the dirt ground and using an open fire for cooking and heat. E-mail Woodie (a Navajo wrangler/cowboy) at yaa-ho@abearco.com or Mike (a local Navajo businessman) at mike@abearco.com or 'cc' an email to me at cbear@virtualtourist.com for locations near Page, Arizona or other locations in Navajoland call the Navajo Nation Tourism Department at (928) 810-8501 in Window Rock, Arizona.
$39. to $79. depending on season. Mention that the local Andersons Feed Co. recommended you to stay in Page, AZ.

There are boarding kennels for your dogs at Andersons Feed & Fence, 290 Cowboy Ray Road in Page, AZ. 928-645-3633. Check out the Retail or Services link on www.abearco.com
