Old Style Motels in the historic district
It was "different". The owner is nice and the place big enough. The different aspect is going back n time to stay at a motel of 1950's. It also served as long term stays for people "traveling through", or having financial problems. The Whole block is designated the historic district, and that is a hoot. It is located two blocks off Lake Powell Blvd on 8th ave. This was the first place where motels were built while the dam was getting completed. Not much has changed.
Unique Quality: It had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and two bedrooms. All this for $35 a nite. WOW, am I cheap. I actually found this on line, and thought, oh why not; it is only for one night. Sometimes on line is not what you see when you get there. A lot of the electrical has been "retrofitted" like in hanging on but it works. The ouside drive by traffic all nite does keep one awake.
