Best Western is great!

Great hotel if you are planning a long stay. The room is comfortable and have available mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. We had to be there for 3 full weeks for work and our stay was great.. We were there with out Black Lab and they have special rooms for guests with pets. Dont think that you are going to get one of those rooms if you dont have a pet. They are the same quality as the other ones.

Room service is pretty neat and they clean it really well. Continental Breakfast is available everyday (free) and also free Business Center. You can use the internet connection from room, too.. The pool is nice size and also the jacuzzi. Even that is not a huge hotel it feels pretty comfortable due to the amenities that they provide.

Unique Quality: * Close to major freeways
* Downtown Phoenix is not that far
* Decent breakfast
* treadmill and weights available for use
* Variety of restaurants close by..just drive all Northern Avenue
* You can ask for Laundry Service or chose to do your own laundry in area special for guest
* Excellent service
* Ideal for a long business travel

And best of all! It's a pet friendly hotel. You can come with your pet. Plenty of grass to potty and open area in their surroundings to take the dog for a walk.

Incredible Weather

Rock Climb Everytime I visit Pheonix my uncle takes me to the Bank One Ballpark and we sit in his firm's season seats. The atmosphere there is like no other in the MLB. The people in AZ are so supportive of their D-Backs. It is a well engineered park made to fit thousands of screaming fans. The employees and concessions are some of the best I've ever seen. I would highly recommend catching a game out there if you get the chance. Make sure to book early at whatever Phoenix Hotel

Phoenix or Scottsdale

by candykitchen

Hi My husband and I are planning to visit the Phoenix area in September '07 - Can someone please suggest any nice hotels Phoenix or would we be better to stay in Scottsdale?

Thanks

What are you planning on doing while in the area? Scottsdale is better for upscale shopping and spas, but you may be better off in Tempe, Uptown or by the airport if you're just looking to see the general Phoenix sites.

Also, what is your budget? I LOVE the Four Seasons at Troon North but it can be a bit pricey.

Originally it was just going to be a stop over on our journey between San Diego and the Grand Canyon, but we now have enough time to be able to spend a day site seeing and doing the tourist thing. Is it worth spending a day or do you think we would be better having another day either in Flagstaff or Tusayan. Your advice is greatly appreciated

I'd say maybe spend a little time in Phoenix, but spend much of the day in Sedona if you've never been. Then spend that night in Flagstaff.
There's not really much to see in Tusayan besides the park itself.
