Would like to take in a ball game early April
by cherylrf
I understand Spring Training is in full swing in the Phoenix area. Where do we find out where the games are and who is playing and how do we get tickets? Are the games day or evening or both? Thanks for the info.

The regular season starts this weekend. You can visit the web site for the Arizona Diamondbacks for ticket, and other information. Gary

sorry, today is the last day of spring training. sduring the season ou can get tickets at the gate any time before the games or during. there may be evening games but most of them are in the daytime. I don't know where you would get a listing of the teams playing, I have kids who live there and they tell me. there are several parks throughout the Phoenix valley, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe and Suprise for a few.

Travel Tips for Phoenix
In Phoenix golf is a big...

In Phoenix golf is a big thing to do. The best part of it is a traveler can golf year round if they like. The summers are harsh down here because the heat is horrid to deal with, but once you get used to it you are fine. I grew up here and still live here. I enjoy the winters they are mild and if you are not from here you can wear shorts year round.
A Beautiful Scenic Drive
by changeinlatitude
While you are in Phoenix be sure to drive take a drive to the Cheyenne Pass. The trip to the pass is a nice drive and once you get the the Pass, yikes, but worth it.
The Pass road is very narrow and is a long way down into the floor of the desert and it is breath taking. The beautiful lakes are the water reservoirs for the surrounding areas and are just beautiful. The first lake we came to (I can't remember the name) had a very nice merina and restaurant where we had a couple of very needed beers and a nice lunch lake side before taking to the trail again.
Most of the lake areas have camping areas and merinas as well. What I was trying to figure out is, how in the heck the got some of those big boats there. There is now way I could or would pull a boat on that pass.
Any way, it is a beautiful place and it makes you think of the struggle they must have gone through years ago getting over and through those mountains when there was now road.
Here are a few pictures for you. I hope you enjoy.
Motorcycle

Phoenix offers 365 day a year motorcycle riding weather!
If you don't own a bike, or can bring your's, you can rent the Great American motorcycle "Harley Davidson" from a number of outlets in the city.
Altough, I've owned several, I have never rented so I can't help you with rates.
People who have rented have told me it is reasonably priced.
I'm supplying a link, but there are several other places that also rent.

Feel the home made italy
by Guzzie19 about Pino's Pizza al Centro
This place is awesome! Is very tiny place but business moves very fast. They dont open saturday and sunday because most of their business is made during the week days. Their pizza is delicious and reasonable prices. If you are on the heathy side, try one of the salads. Service is fast!. Lunch hours is also very crowded due to the hospital and many business in the area.
The owner is a true italian..so you must know food is deliciousssss!

Modern Masters, Fine Art you can actually own!
by crhood
This gallery in Old Town Scottsdale is one of the largest, right on the southwest corner of Scottsdale Rd. & Main St. Most of the other galleries all seemed to carry local emerging artists and southwestern art whereas this gallery featured well known masters like Warhol, Picasso, and Renoir! Their collection is spectacular and the gallery itself is welcoming with a wonderful ambience. What surprised us most about the gallery is that the works are approachable in price. We were able to get an original Picasso for our collection, at a very reasonable price. They have private viewing rooms where you can make final decisions privately. Our International Art Consultant seemed to know everything about the artists and works they had and was exceptionally polite, not at all like a pushy salesman, he was a wealth of knowledge and helped us make the right decision for our art collection. I would recommend this gallery to anyone who is looking to start or build their fine art collection, diversify their portfolio, or even just to look! I saw a wider and better collection at this gallery than I have seen in many museums I've been to all over the world. While in Old Town we also walked down Main St. to the park by the Contemporary Art Museum (as recommended by our Art Consultant at American Fine Art) it was so peaceful and relaxing. Scottsdale is such a beautiful and sunny environment, we are thinking of getting a second home their.
