Don't need fine dining, but love to eat. Aha! I know the perfect place to go have some fun and a lot to eat. You will have to drive down the 10 Freeway to Chandler, about 15 miles south from the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. Worth the trip just for the sight of it. It is unique. The name is "Heart Attack Grill" and the doctor and nurses will fix you up with a "killer burger" called the "Quadruple Bypass Burger." Big enough for two, unless you want to be wheeled out. See their website: http://www.heartattackgrill.com/

I suggest that you try best of philly, 2818 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85004. You can check its website for more info (http://www.bestofphillyaz.com/).

I tried Pita Jungle, it was fine. Very casual sort of hippixy.

Salazar Brother's at Baseline & 48th has great burritos. Just stick to the stuff that they make well: burritos, tacos & tortas.

Or a change of pace might be Lalibela's. They have Ethiopian food off of University & Hardy.

Travel Tips for Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ

by teemroper

This place is great. My wife and I flew out last Novemeber and had a blast. The city is very clean. One of the easiest Cities to get around in all the streets are labeled and they continue as the same name into all the suburbs around. If you are going to make it to Phoenix the nyou have to make the little over an hour trip to Sedona (120 miles up I-17). They don't pay much attention to the speed limits out there. Sedona is a nice little tourist trap settled in the Red hills up there. We rode a Pink Jeep tours. My 3 year old thought it was great. A must see for anyone. JKR

Bank One Ball Park

by KazigluBey

The stadium seats over 48,000 people and is air-conditioned for comfort. The building has a retractable roof, a natural grass field, and believe it or not a swimming pool in the seating area. It is the home to the well known and loved Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team.

Bank One Ballpark is owned by the Maricopa County Stadium District and is home to a wide venue of events including sports and concerts. If you enjoy large gatherings as such this one is a must see!

Enjoy Beautiful Downtown Mesa

by jumpingnorman

This downtown is among the best in Maricopa County (which includes Phoenix)!

Downtown Mesa invested thousands of dollars installing all these nice bronze statues depicting everyday life (like the one here with my son beside a newspaper boy) and giant polar bears and horses....this is just like the ones you see in Madrid or the fascinating art sculptures in Bratislava....So, it was very nice for me to find a city downtown like this near where we live.

Aside from the nice cafes, delis and stores, Downtown Mesa also has an impressive Natural History Museum with exhibits on dinosaurs, Mars, Cowboys and Native Indians - and even gold-panning!

They also have the Mesa Arts Center...just so much to see and do in downtown Mesa. So, don't forget to drive over there specially when you are in eastern Maricopa County.

For Dinning, Dancing, and Music eat here!

by zr2gmc about Barcelona

At Barcelona's you'll eat in style. The restaurant has live music most evenings, and later in the night (usually around 9pm) they start clearing the dance floor of tables for dancing. It is an exquisite atmosphere, very classy and warm. During spring, they open the doors to the patio to let the outside air in. I enjoyed the Paella. It was very filling and made just right. As far as I could tell, everything on the menu looked great!

Oregano's Pizza Bistro

by acemj about Oregano's Pizza Bistro

Definitely looks like a fun atmosphere. I never actually went to eat here, but my friend who lives here says it's great. It's across from Bank One Ballpark and a lot of the professional athletes frequent this place.
