Vacation in "the Valley of the Sun"
by traveldogs about Holiday Inn Express/Phoenix (Tempe)
We are happy to say that this is a pet friendly facility. We spent the night here because our mum and dad drove over to watch the Monday Night Football game between the Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers. We had an air conditioned room with a king size bed. The room also came with a microwave, fridge and cable tv. We liked the fact that complimentary homemade cookies were served at night and breakfast was serve in the morning.

salt river water temp May 31
by pattymkaufman
Just wondering what the water temp might be if we go tubing down the salt river this saturday, may 31. tried to find info on other sites and couldn't. i really don't want to go if the water is going to basically the snow run-off from flag. have rafted a lot in durango and if the water is ice cold, to me at least, it takes the fun out of the trip no matter what the outside temp is. guess age is getting to me. thx, patty kaufman

Others may have better info but, I thought the Salt River was a dry gulch that only fills with heavy rain fall.

Have done this, think it was early summer, but the water was fine. I would remember if it was ice cold because I hate ice cold water in anything other than a drinking glass.

We had a front whip through last week that shot the temps down so they're only now again going back to 100, but the White Mountains that feed the Salt River got a bit of snow which will be melting off into the river now.
Basically, it will probably be chillier than normal, but tolerable. With it getting so hot, too, I would imagine that it's going to be very crowded this coming weekend.
Travel Tips for Phoenix
Hit the road and visit Rockypoint, Mexico
by Guzzie19
When you are in Phoenix you have the opportunity to go and visit Rockypoint, Mexico (Puerto Penasco). Is a fun trip to take your car and drive about 4 hours to get into this town. There are villas and hotels where you can stay. Rockypoint have now many hotel developments where you can book a room with a beach view. I had seen people with their RV too. They have several RV parks in the town or in the beach area.
You can enjoy seafood, really cheap street tacos and good restaurants too. There is one street to do all your mexican souvenirs shopping. The beach is fabulous!
A Different Pointe in Type is...

A Different Pointe in Type is located above the Pointe Hilton Tapitino Cliffs in North Phoenix.
There is an outdoor patio that over looks downtown. The bar itself has plenty of windows so when the temp is above 110 you can cool indoors. moderatly dressly. Slacks and button shirt. You can wear jeans, but you will fee out of place.
"Mediterranean-infused" American
by razorbacker about Fez
My daughter loves it for its style. Food was great. Surely you won't be disappointed. Give it a whirl! I believe I had the "Casablanca Chicken Sandwich" - grilled chicken breasts, pomegranate vinaigrette, goat cheese, sliced pears, dried cherries & field greens on ciabatta. The tan-tan chicken and the douxelle, tangier, bleu cheese balsamic, and fez burgers all sound good.
The fries come in good portions - for $4.50, they should! - and range from plain to s&p to cinnamon-dusted sweet to garlic and rosemary to spicy harissa.

M-m-m-m-m-mmmm!!!! All locations open at noon daily. The 2 northern stores close at 22:00, while the 2 southern shops close at 23:00. All locations stay open one hour later on Friday & Saturday nights. Can't decide! It's ALL great!
