Knightmare Inn
The room was a shambles. There were several light bulbs missing, along with the hairdryer, and smoke alarm. The carpet was torn and pulled up in places. The light in the shower was missing it's cover and had bare wires exposed. If one is tall enough and had wet hair one would electrocute ones self if one accidentally touched it. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom the size of a thugs fist, and the toilet seat was not attached to the toilet.
At 2:00 or so in the morning some thug banged on my door and window demanding to talk to someone named Odie! A call to the front desk and he was chased off.
I give it a half star for no bed bugs (as far as I could tell), and another half star for no dead hooker under the bed.
Unique Quality: nothing... Nothing at all!

Bad reviews but really nice place
I got this hotel through a United vacation package for cheap because my son was in the hospital and I needed to be in Phoenix right here, right now. Then I read the reviews and I was scared to even go there they were so bad. But we figured after a late flight we would spend the first night there and if it was too awful we would find somewhere else for the next three. Not only did we stay, we very much liked the place. The staff was helpful and friendly, and our room was spotlessly clean. Had we not gotten it through United vacations it would have cost us $59 a night in downtown Phoenix! It is 2 blocks from Thomas which will get you to anywhere you need to go to get across the city. The free breakfast was coffee, juice, and doughnuts but a cheap Mexican breakfast was a block away and very delicious.
Unique Quality: For the money, I would stay here again. Plus, it is close to Pat Murphy's Irish pub which was a very fun place to hang out at night.
