Shuttle Service from Sky Harbor

by Osmun79

I'm arriving in Sky Harbor at around 7:30pm. I may need to take a shuttle from there to Prescott. I'm thinking of taking Shuttle U, but what are my other options and how do they compare in price and route? I just want to make sure I get to Prescott without much hassle and without too much expense.

Prescott Transit appears to be the alternative (http://www.prescotttransit.com/).
Haven't tried either, but they should follow the same route (69 - 17), since that's about the only direct route between the two.

After you've read 'The Teachings of Don Juan' and decide to investigate, I found this interesting site on the web for Shamanic Counseling. I haven't personally tried it, but it appears to be tailor made for those interested in experiencing the southwest dimension.

Squaw Peak

by AissaBohol

It's not something tourists actually like doing.. just hiking for the usual view or simply, for the heck of it. For those who have scheduled trips, they opt the usual tours, to national parks, and the like but Squaw Peak offers a kind of fullfillment unknown to many tourists. It's the feeling that you've conquered an unfamiliar route, let alone a very high hike. It's not an easy activity climbing Squaw Peak what with the sun and the absence of shade but once you reach the top and see all of the town and the numerous cacti in the area, it's a different adventure and a fulfilling one at that.

No national rail link but soon a domestic

by bluejaxx

There is no longer national rail service in Phoenix. If you want to catch an Amtrak train you will have to go to Tucson Arizona which is about 110 miles away and a 1 hour and 45 minute drive. Currently a light rail is being built through downtown Phoenix which will extend to Tempe passing Chase Field (formerly BanK one Ballpark) and US Airways arena (Formerly America West Arena). The next extension will go to northern phoenix. But don't hold your breath, it wont open until the end of 2008.

Primo's (Italian)

by Aaron7 about Primo's

This is a very nice restaurant with great food, hidden away in an unlikely place. It's hidden away in a strip mall along with a bagel store right next to taco bell and across from Basha's. It features gourmet cuisine with exquisite preparation at every step. The seasoned bread crusts made a nice, tasty if not spectacular start to the meal. The salad arrived and was certainly a step above most other restaurants. It featured a variety of leafy greens covered with a delicious house italian dressing and a waiter provided fresh cracked pepper to taste. The meal itself was similarly exquisite. All the members of our group were extremely happy with the pasta and meat preparation whether having ziti or marsala. The sauces all measured up extremely well. The portions were perfect, not so little that you felt cheated, but not so large that you felt over strained when they presented a desert menu. The desserts were also very good, though I was a bit disappointed with the cheesecake. It couldn't compare with a NY cheesecake. The others were happy with thier tiramisu and sorbet though. The seafood ravioli. It's not listed on the menu aside from a quick blurb "Ask about our ravioli". But it is great. It comes with a sweet cheese sauce, and the portion is just the right size.

Have a fun night at Pappadeux Seafood Kitchen

by Azonie

Sit out on the GORGEOUS patio at Pappadeux and dance to some jammin' live music! They alternate their bands so there is usually a differnt one there each time you go..They usually have the same ones on the roster though so eventually you see the same ones come back through...Our fave is Loose Cannon Blues band..These guys can sing some outrageous Chicago blues! The lead is Luther Jackson, Michael Jacksons' uncle..He is awesome!

The other bands are usually really good too..They pretty much go with 70's 80's rock and Blues..The great thing about it is they start at 6:00pm and play til 10:00pm..Which is nice if you don't want to wait somewhere til 9:00 for a band to start.
