Step back into history in Prescott, Arizona
The Hotel Vendome is a fully restored circa-1910 "frontier hotel". From the old-west style hallways and public areas to the huge clawfoot bathtubs and chain toilets, it's the sort of place that Teddy Roosevelt would feel comfortable in.
Unique Quality: Besides the physical relationship to the past, the hotel's staff takes great pains to treat you in a friendly and old-time manner. I remember having a cool beer and (for the kids) lemonade in the afternoon on the front porch of the Vendome, as the innkeeper left his desk and came out to talk with us.
