Very "Homey" for a chain hotel...

My husband and I spent 3 nights here in Sept/Oct 2004.

We go to Prescott for a long weekend at least once a year. Our usual hotel's rates had increased dramatically and we could stay at the Spring Hill Suites for 3 nights for the same price it would've cost for 2 nights at our usual place... So, we decided to give it a try.

The rate was $119 per night. We had a lovely suite with a king size bed and a sofa (sleeper), chair & ottoman, table & chairs, microwave, sink, fridge, coffeemake, 2 TV's, etc... It was clean and the colors were very nice (deep jewel tones balance with neutrals.) Our room was on the front side of the hotel and we had a nice view of Thumb Butte (a mountain to the west of town).

The location is right smack dab in the middle of the downtown. Next door to a strip with a grocery store (24 hours, I think) and a drug store and other shops and fast food...

We walked to the square and to some of our favorite restaurants around town.

Also, the hotel and the area were very quiet. We like to sleep with our window open -- which we did -- and were not disturbed at all. In the morning, we heard and occasional trunk slam or car door slam as people were checking out...but nothing disturbingly loud.

Oh, and breakfast was included too! It's served in a big "day room" in the hotel lobby area -- very open and airy with clearstory windows. A great place to meet up with friends or the rest of your party.

Unique Quality: The "day room" where breakfast is served also has a gas fireplace and a sofa and a couple of comfy chairs and tables -- set up like a living room area. Well, a group of 6 of us that were bored with the function we were attending went back to the hotel. We walked over to the grocery store and bought 4 bottles of wine. We had left-overs from our picnic the day before in our fridge (cheese, crackers, fruit, chocolate...) -- otherwise we would've picked up some snacks too. We all met by the fireplace and sat around on the cozy sofa and chairs and talked and talked and talked until 2 am. We moved a couple of chairs around so we could all see each other and no one from the front desk ever bothered us. They didn't mind when we turned the lamps off and they came over and turned up the fireplace -- it was like being at some ol' friends house. For a couple of hours, I forgot that we were even in a hotel. It was that comfortable...
