There with family getting tests at the Mayo Clinic. This place is very close to Mayo Clinic and the surrounding area is pretty. It is quite far from Scottsdale's art galleries and downtown so if that is your purpose stay closer in town. This is an okay, if not pricey place to stay. They say they give a discount to people going to the Mayo but it was more than the price I found on line and the reservation person couldn't explain it.
the lobby and pool areas of this place are nice. The walls are thin enough to hear your neighbor snoring. The housekeeping staff was very pushy about wanting us out early even though we had the private tag out and were staying another night. The room set up is strange with the tv parallel to the bed. Pillows are WAY to small. There is an 18% gratuity added to room services wo watch out. But food was pretty good we thought. No fan in the bathroom. Nice view from second story.
Unique Quality: It is within walking distance of the Mayo Clinic which is pretty far from town to begin with. The walking nature trail is a nice feature and is between the Marriot and the Clinic. If you need places to eat, get gas or nessecities go up Shea Bldv and turn right at Frank Lloyd Wright and you'll find them all there. Really the main feature is it's proximity to Mayo. When you are getting tests done all day you will appreciate how close it is.
The restaurant and tiny market store are very expensive and the staff isn't really that friendly so get your own provisions if you can.
