here are a couple of photos i found and finally scanned them :-) very nice weather of course! lots of empty spaces and hey palm trees! however i am not used of seeing empty spaces..i have lived in chicago for 12 years and you don't see any empty space here whatsoever! i thought arizona was so darn boring! it's a nice place to visit though.
The short and winding roads
by garridogal
I really enjoyed just wandering along the winding paths at Camelback Inn. After getting lost a couple of times, I learned the lay of the land and truly appreciated how spread out the rooms were and how well-kept the paths were.
Schlotzsky's Deli
by al_mary about Schlotzsky's Deli
In 1971, a small shop on South Congress
Avenue in Austin, Texas was home to a
single, one-of-a-kind sandwich. The menu
was succinct: one delectable sandwich
composed of a unique combination of
premium meats, cheeses, and marinated
black olives served on hot Schlotzsky's
sourdough bread ..... Nice place to eat either lunch or a light dinner
offering a variety of fresh baked breads for
your sandwiches.
Mary had: Angus Beef / Provalone Cheese with
horseradish sauce on a wheat roll
(see picture)
Al had: Angus Pastami / swiss cheese on a
dark rye roll
(see picture)
**** NOTE ****
Pickle comes with it, but you must ask for it
We enjoyed it, and would rate it: 6 out of 10
Old Town Bar/Grill
by BruceDunning about Karsen's Grill
It was good and the beer cold. I had Philly cheese steak sandwich for $7.50, and Micky had quesadilla for $8 and it was big. They do not specialize in food, as much as ion serving the beer/drinks. It is a local hang out for sports fans and friends to get together. There may be only 40 seats to chose from; small and neighborhood feel. The burrito was large and good, and stuffed with ample pork meat
Contemporary Art Museum
by BruceDunning
This is located in the Civic Center Mall area, in a more than unusual modern/contemporary structure. The exhibits are small and few, and of local type artists also trying to sell their wares. There are three gallery wings, but all small. Price to enter is $7 and not worth the visit.
