    Timeshare city

We were in Scottsdale for a wedding. ½ the guests stayed at the Marriott around the corner, and ½ of us stayed at the Scottsdale Links Resort. We were a 5 minute walk from the Marriott, and though we couldn’t enjoy any on-site dining (or bar), our accommodations were half the price and provided twice the space. You are essentially renting an apartment for your stay. Tons of space (including walk-in closets). Full kitchens…etc. Very clean.

Biggest draw back is the hard sales pitch you’re guaranteed to get from the time-share sales guys (will happen immediately after you check in). They’ve got a gym on site and small pool. For more action and pool-side dining, walk down to the Marriott – they won’t give you any hassle for crashing their pool scene.

  • Nice Resort!

Scottsdale Links is a private gated community, so it provides a very safe and quiet retreat for all guests. The resort was clean and well-maintained. The rooms were spacious and clean, each with a kitchen area. (Load up on food and drinks, because there is no restaurant on site). The 2-bedroom suite had a kitchen, dining room, living room, and obviously, 2-bedrooms and 2-baths.

I believe this resort was originally designed to serve as a rental apartment community, so therefore you can understand why the resort is set up as apartment-style accommodations. Because of this, I felt the rooms were much more spacious and livable, and you never felt as if you were stuck in a tiny hotel room. The pool was rather small and the chairs filled up quickly with people. The jacuzzi in the pool area is a good place to hang out a night with a cooler of beer.

The resort has great location adjacent to TPC Desert Golf Couse. You definately need a car here, since there's nothing within walking distance as far as restaurants, markets, etc. Overall a wonderful resort.
