Duck argument by rsilva This was my second attempt at using the priceline bidding site. This time it turned out good. This place is considered a "resort" as it has an outdoor swimming pool, a 9-hole golf course and a tennis court, among other amenities. I asked for a large bed and we ended up getting a King-size, but you could actually fit a whole family in it! Th shampoo and shower gel were high quality and there was a large TV in the room. Since we paid a low rate we were stuck with a view over a wall, but since we never spend much time in the rooms anyway, I don't care. There were some rooms/bungalows that were much nicer with views over the red mountains and the golf course. There were also a lot of ducks/geese running around. I think this is a nice Hotel, you need a car as you cannot get far without one (of course, you probably will not get here if you don't have one in the first place). It is only a 5 minutes from the main street.
outdoor pool, tennis court, gold course.

Mary's Room at Alma de Sedona Inn by deecat Alma de Sedona Inn is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Sedona. This is such a romantic Inn with all the natural beauty surrounding it (which can be seen from the rooms), the beautiful interior designs of each special room with fabulous names, the privacy, the fireplaces, delicious breakfasts, & the pampering. Each room (12 of them) offers a king-sized bed, gas fireplace, telephone & answering machine, cable TV, CD player, Hair-dryer, coffee-maker, private entrance & private patio, plush robes, non-smoking environment, candles & bath salts, & eleven of the twelve rooms have two-person Jacuzzi tubs! (Whew!) I also loved how spacious the rooms were; most of all, I loved the views of the Sedona red rock formations. Some of the names of the rooms that I remember were: Athena, World Traveler, Journey's End, Casa Blanca, American Generation, Romantic Reflections, and Del Sol. They range in price from 180 to over 300 dollars. We stayed in Mary's Room with an iron bed; color scheme of blue, beige and gold; a loveseat, fireplace, & super views.
They offer late afternoon appetizers, and it's a good time to join other guests and share ideas. The Pool is wonderful and is a super spot to watch the incredible sunsets. They do not serve any alcohol (state law), but you are allowed to bring your own. The breakfast is really something with fresh juices, hot-brewed coffee or tea, granola, yogurt and a special main course that changes each day. Recipes are shared if you wish. Allan and Jim at our pool at McCormick Ranch by deecat When we visited Sedona, we came from Scottsdale, Arizona where we had attended a wedding. While in Scottsdale, we stayed in a townhouse villa in the large complex called McCormick Ranch. Once again, we found out about it by looking in the classified section of The Chicago Tribune. We shared the townhouse with friends of ours (Leslie and Jim Nelson) who were also attending the wedding. It was a two bedroom, two bath place with a huge kitchen, living/dining room combination, washer/dryer and screened-in patio right next to the pool (and when I say "right next to", I mean it!) It was on the main drag and so we could walk most everywhere to shop. We had rented a car, so we went out and about also.
The enclosed, screened patio was really great. We could slip out the door and practically fall into the pool, even at night. Having the washer/dryer right in the villa really made it nice. We laughed so hard when we first arrived and saw our master bedroom with a four-poster log bed with spurs and a lasso!! The photo is of Allan and our friend Jim in the pool outside our screen-in patio at McCormick Ranch Complex in Scottsdale Theme: OtherDirections: I don't have the exact address, but everyone in Scottsdale knows where this huge complex is located.

A Garden Pond by keida84 We enjoyed a wonderful group of "Double queen Garden" rooms as we went on a sorority reunion week end. We had a lovely patio overlooking the West part of Sedona. The gardens and grounds were beautiful. The staff professional and accomodating. This is a great place for all types of travelers...families, romantic types, girls week end away. Some rooms have fireplaces, refrigerators and small kitchenettes. Good value for the money. Note: The rooms can be a bit "shabby" in terms of frayed linens or outdated bedspreads but we were able to over look this because our motive was cost effectiveness for a girls' week-end.
On 6 acres next to the Sedona Airport, Sky Ranch Lodge is built near one of Sedona's energy vortexs. The airport has a great breakfast and it is a great place to sit and relax and watch the planes take off and land. They offer Vortex tour packages and "Medicine Wheel" walks. What is a medicine wheel? "A Medicine wheel is made of five stones representing the four directions: N, S, E, W, the center stone representing above, below and within the heart."

by madamx Alma de Sedona was going to be the premier treat to ourselves on our trip to Arizona, but we ended up being disappointed in the long run, and felt we did not get good value for our money -- and plenty of it we spent here during a six-night stay. Located below picturesque Thunder Mountain, the inn consists of adobe-style buildings on gorgeous property, and is on a quiet street in West Sedona. The suites we stayed in were large, but are beginning to look a little worn, with the frequent tourists that make that trip to see the famous Red Rocks of Sedona. The main building where breakfast is served is decorated in a very tasteful mix of elegance and Southwestern rustic. The pool area is great, and is a nice place to watch the sunset, while eating the snacks and cold drinks that are set out every late afternoon. Breakfast is simple and very creative; though filling, it does leave you a bit of room to sample some of the local cuisine at lunch.
As I said we were a little disappointed -- the rug in the first suite we stayed in (Romantic Reflections) had been shampooed a little too much, and looked worn, and second one also looked this way, with the additon of large grease-like stains. A large wardrobe held an 18" inch tv -- not really condusive to watching in such a spacious room. The wardrobe was designed for a 27" tv and this little tv looked strange and out of place. The bathroom is very nice, though, with a huge soaker tub for two. The decor of the suites were very nice and tasteful, though as you open the door the overpowering odor of Pine Sol greets you. The pool, which was supposed to be open, was not, due to longstanding mechanical problems. When we mentioned it to the manager, he told us "it is not pool season around here". However, it we saw many happy bathers at the Days Inn pool down the road. In both of the suites we stayed in ( we left to tour the Grand Canyon, then returned) there was a problem with the shower, where it would unexpectedly surge not hot, but SCALDING water to the point where my husband's back was blistered. To make a long story short, the manager -- we found out the actual owner of the property lives in New Jersey -- was not very helpful and uncaring and acted like we were a bother when we wanted to talk to him about it. We debated about returning, and decided to give them a second chance. On our return, the manager suddenly did a 180 and was falling over himself trying to alleviate the problem. We were puzzled by his Jeckyl and Hyde behavior until we met the owner, who likes to come to the property once a month to see what is going on, wandering around. The owner was very concerned, and upon hearing our woes, ended up giving a 10% discount for our trouble. This, though, did not completely make up for the disappointment we experienced. Overall, the breakfasts were good, and the property is beautiful, and housekeeping was immaculate. We will not return, though, due to the manager's behavior

by Yaqui There are many lovely hotels and Inns located all along Hwy 89a, but this one is right down smack in the middle of the uptown shopping/restaurants area. I thought that was pretty cool. You could see so many patrons just sitting on their balconies enjoying all the people watching. I know when we drove into town from the 89, we were amazed of all the night life and colorful lights each of the buildings had. Plus, right behind this Inn has an open parking lot that we were able to find parking. All the other public lots were filled to the brim, but not this one. Now each side of this Inn has balconies, although one side does not have the view side of the main street, but BOTH have spectacular views that are awesome. 928-282-7176 AAA approved Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 230 Apple Ave, , Sedona, Arizona 86336Phone: 800-372-8207Directions: Center of uptown Sedona, Hwy 89AWebsite: www.matterhorninn.com

We selected Apple Orchard Inn because it was one of the accommodations our guidebook recommended. I'm glad we did! The location was ideal because it was within walking distance of town, but away from the frenetic pace. When we arrived, an envelope containing our room key was tucked in the door for us. Going inside, we realized we had booked into a very comfortable B&B. The ample living room was inviting with plump sofas and overstuffed chairs; the dining room had a stunning view of the woods and mountain beyond. (picture 3) Chocolate chip cookies awaited us on a china plate on one of the tables. Our room was downstairs where we hoped it would be quiet. A king size bed with a rustic pickled wood stain seemed the focus of the bedroom, which was roomy with doors opening to a small patio leading to the parking lot. The bathroom was light and airy and held a whirlpool tub. (picture 2) A tasty breakfast was served between 8:30 am-9:30 am. If it had been warmer, a visit to the patio off the dining room would have been a treat! (picture 4)
