Hotel with large patios and a stunning view

The location is quite good, just outside the center of the town.
The service was ok.

Unique Quality: The standard hotel rooms are quite similar to any other Best Western or Holiday Inn rooms. The small refrigerator is a plus. But... this hotel offers something that most other hotels of this category don't do: a patio as large as the room itself and even larger. Plus, a stunning view over the red rocks. Although the patio is not private for each room, but more a terraced promenade deck, we enjoyed drinking coffee outside in the early morning, when everything was quiet. One can also bring food and have a picnic. It's very convenient.
One minus: there were not enough tables and chairs on the promenade deck.

The complimentary breakfast was more than ok.

Every room has a view!

Room was beautiful, clean, spacious and modern. Really nice complimentary soaps and shampoos! Complimentary breakfast in the morning with cereal, oatmeal, muffins, toast, fruit & hard boiled eggs. Nice to grab a cup of tea and sit out on the balcony with breakfast. There was a great concierge service in the lobby if i remember correctly. Wireless internet connection, really friendly front desk staff--a good location, not too far from downtown or the scenery.

Unique Quality: Really great view.

Very nice place to stay

Very nice and modern hotel with great views. Only a mile or 2 from town on the west side. Near markets and restaurants (though not within easy walking distance). Very nicely designed -- nice pool -- included breakfast. Only draw-back were the soft beds (woke-up w/ a back ache). All-in-all , we were very pleased (despite the bed).

Unique Quality: Great views -- pool -- modern

What a view

by TripAdvisor Member Nitrobrune

We just returned from a short vacation with our Corvette Club (20 couples) to Sedona. The Best Western Inn of Sedona welcomed us with open arms. They put cones in the parking area in front of our rooms so we could be sure to park where we could keep an eye on our cars. We didn't have any trouble, but you know how Corvette owners are about watching their cars. The rooms had a door from the parking lot and another door to a huge common deck facing the mountains. We held an impromptu cocktail party on the deck to watch the sun set. Tables and chairs are provided. It was perfect with the mountains in the background and the setting sun. The rooms, while not large, were comfortable and spotless. A free breakfast was included which consisted of cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, toast and muffins. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. Although this Inn is a little out of town, the short extra drive is well worth it. We paid a AAA rate of $124 a night in September. There is another Best Western located right in the middle of the tourist shop and restaurants. The location would be nice, but we all felt our hotel location was much better. Don't pass up an opportunity to stay here high on a hill in colorful Sedona.

Great Views, Okay Rooms

by TripAdvisor Member comfortableshoes

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Best Western Inn of Sedona this month. We knew ahead of time that the good views of the red rocks are gotten from the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, but, as luck would have it, we ended up on the first floor. The room was just okay, not beautiful like some of the pictures we'd seen online. We had a few problems worth noting - the shower curtain smelled of mildew, there were some ants in the room, and it was difficult to pull the window curtain all the way shut so people couldn't see into the room. Furthermore, we had to carry our bags down 2 flights of stairs to our room and then back up again when we left - needless to say, we were a bit out of breath given the altitude! As we were leaving we saw people loading bags down the driveway, adjacent to the rooms on a lower floor. It would have been nice if the front desk staff had advised us of this option upon our arrival! On a more pleasant note, the continental breakfast was nice, consisting of several types of muffins, bagels, toast, cereals, juices and coffee. There was a choice of inside or outside seating and we ate outside most days as the weather was so pleasant. All in all, the hotel wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth the $127/night we paid, given some of the other hotels we enjoyed on our vacation in the Southwest. If we can get a better rate next time we'll give the place another try. A recommendation for dinner - Dahl & DiLuca - great Italian food and Old World ambience. The service was exceptional - they know what they're doing! The Pink Jeep Tour was great, too!

Overpriced and underwhelming

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed one night in early September, and though the view was lovely, it was a tad pricey for a Best Western. We chose this hotel specifically because they had a fitness room on site. However, the fitness room doesn't open until 8 am, which prevented an early morning workout. I've never stayed at a hotel with fitness facilities in the U.S. or abroad that opened later than 6 am.

The continental breakfast was disappointing, at best.

Lovely hotel, beautiful views, good price for Sedona

by TripAdvisor Member Gourmand

I liked this hotel very much. I especially liked the fact it was built on a tier and so no room is built over you or under you making it nice and quiet. You have views on a private balcony fit with chairs and tables, to die for. Just awesome and worth the price of the room.

We had a King Room with fireplace and couch, armoir with TV, back door to patio, hair dryer, ironing board, refrigerator, and microwave. The pool and spa open to 10:00 was enjoyed by us every night.

The landscape is lovely. The bedding drives me crazy when there is not a fitted sheet and you have to fight to keep the short sheeted bed together all night. Fortunately, we always travel with a king-size fitted sheet now and so we were fine in our own sheet.

The breakfast was very sparse and so we ate out at Sedona Rouge every day. Only cereals, toast and coffee at Best Western. Not enough for such a lovely place.

We were staying at this Best Western to attend a conference in the BW conference center. The Conference center is lovely and perfect for our group, however the catering staff were more than disruptive the entire three days. They were asked over and over to please be quiet but that just seemed to make them louder. I do hope the manager takes care of this issue if they plan to rent out for important and expensive conferences. It was ridiculous.

Finally, we left a pair of shoes and orthopedic inserts by accident in our room. We have been calling the housekeeper and manager over and over to no satisfaction. Since we KNOW we accidently left them behind, this means someone TOOK them and will not own up to it. The shoes were not as important of course as the insert which cost us over a $1,000 to create. It seems a place like a Best Western should have an efficient lost and found program and our shoes should have been easily recovered. Instead I have been accused by Housekeeping that I must have misplaced them in my suitcase, and then Housekeeping promised to look again and would call me back. She never called and it's one week later now. We have called the manager and received no response. This unfortunate incident has spoiled what was a truly lovely vacation at a Best Western.

Manager Candy Connolly is Very Rude and Unpleasant

by A TripAdvisor Member

We had stayed at this hotel a couple times prior to this trip. We returned because it had beautiful views and it was a very special place to us as a couple. However on this stay we had many problems with the room and service. The main problem had to do with the Manager named Candy Connolly. She did not listen to any of the customer's complaints, was very rude and very unprofessional. She is very inpatient and very hurtful with her words. At the breakfast in the morning we were eating with a few other of the guests and they said as well that they were not pleased with Mrs. Connolly and how unfriendly she was. My fiance and I are planning our Wedding Ceremony and Reception to be in Sedona and wanted our guests to stay here at the Best Western Inn of Sedona. We would still love to as long as Candy Connolly is not working those days or on shift as long as our friends and family are staying there.

Best Western Inn at Sedona

by TripAdvisor Member maplest

Lovely hotel away from the action of the tourist traffic of Sedona with beautiful views of the red rocks. Breakfast was bountiful with something for everyone but several problems: the price I booked on Expedia was higher than the price quoted when we arrived and we were stuck, having paid the higher price so I recommend booking directly with the hotel; we were placed in a room on the lowest level of the hotel which for some reason has NO INTERNET SERVICE available and lastly, unfortunately, the exercise room doesn't open until 9 am which makes working out a real problem. The concierge was a lovely woman and helped us find a great place for dinner.

Good value - great view!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

The Best Western Inn is a nice hotel with an unbelievable view. As far as the rooms and amenities you are getting what you pay for - nice but nothing special. As far as the view from the very large balcony area - incredible. You do share the balconies with others but there is plenty of room and many tables and chairs provided. The staff was very friendly and the woman at the conceirge desk is extremely helpful. The food for the complimentary breakfast was a little disappointing but there are plenty of other places to eat nearby.

We did have a bad experience in that we originally booked with Expedia and were supposed to be at the other Best Western in the heart of Sedona, much nearer to shops and restuarants. When I changed the dates of the trip Expedia changed the hotels as well and I missed the error. I will book directly with hotels on all trips from now on. Expedia's response to their mistake was very poor.

However - the staff and view at the Best Western Inn made up for Expedia's error. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced place to stay.

Great place for a wedding!

by TripAdvisor Member CurlyQs

I just had my wedding (4/29/06) at the BW Inn of Sedona and were thrilled with the location, staff, and service. Everyone we encountered was so pleasant & helpful. We gave wine to each of our guests & unprompted, the hotel handed out cork screws to each person as they checked in...What a nice touch!! The guests loved the balconies on which we enjoyed coctails & laughs. The staff made sure our party was all placed near each other & therefore we had 2 balconies of friends and family. I couldn't have asked for a better setting!!! Rosalie's of Sedona is the sole caterer & they are WONDERFUL!! I highly reccommend this place to anyone looking to host their wedding in Sedona. The views, layout and service can compete with any of the fancier hotels.
