Highly recommend Junipine

by A TripAdvisor Member

We recently stayed at Junipine for 4 nights and highly recommend it. It is out of town, about 10 minutes drive, but not a problem if you have a car. It has a spectacular location, on oak creek canyon, and would appeal to nature lovers. The accommodation is spacious, individual cabins like townhouses really, and there was plenty of space for the three of us. We stayed in cabin no. 15 with a hot tub which was lovely. The food at the Junipine Cafe was excellent and very reasonably priced. The cafe however isn't open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during winter which was disappointing. I wouldn't call Junipine a resort, but we will definitely return as we enjoyed our stay so much. Feel free to email me if you have any questions lisahartley68@yahoo.com.au.

Out Of The Way

Just returned from a fantastic vacation in Sedona. We were so happy we chose The Junipine. The reviews on this site have been helpful in choosing hotels. It's great! The Junipine, although outside of town is still convient to all attractions. Such a peaceful setting in the canyon. We stayed in Unit #3. Great view! Great Hot Tub! Very comfortable. The sound of the brook out the back was relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed. The staff was very accomadating and friendly. Great job by the housekeeping staff. The two fireplaces added great atmosphere on the chilly fall evenings. On our next trip to Sedona we would without a doubt plan our stay at The Junipine.

A perfect memory for a lifetime!

Having been in hotel management, I can absolutely say the Junipine has it ALL figured out. The nicest people work there, and the setting took our breath away. We had Unit 11, which was large and decorated beautifully, with two fireplaces, a loft, a full kitchen, and a deck overlooking the creek and the gazebo. Secret gardens and beautiful natural scenery abound. It rained (actually it HAILED too) while we were there but it was a romantic place and we were able to stay in and cook dinner and eat by the fire. We hiked up the trail next to Oak Creek and truly enjoyed the gifts of nature. The staff couldn't do enough to please us, they were fantastic. Junipine spoiled us for life and we have no recourse but to return as soon as possible! And the rate was cheaper than the small cookie cutter room we had at the Best Western in Sedona!

Beyond All Expectations

Even after reading all the glowing reviews for the Junipine, the place still took my breath away. The setting alone is spectacular - set on the banks of a rushing creek among pine trees and a towering cliff face...a nature lover's dream! We booked a Creekhouse with a creek view and enjoyed being able to hear the rushing water while drifting off to sleep. The bedroom and bathroom were luxurious with a wood burning fireplace in both the bedroom and living room. Full service kitchen, private outdoor decks and all were wonderfully clean and well maintained. It doesn't take long for the that 'home away from home' feeling to settle in and make you wish you had more time to spend there. If you're looking for a romantic, peaceful getaway, this is the place for you! I know we always look for some tips about the area when we read these reviews, so here it goes.....Two of our favorite restaurants were 'Dahl and Deluca' for Italian food, Picazzo's for great gourmet pizza and salads. Sedona Memories for lunch (huge sandwiches made on the most delicious homemade breads)and Javelina Cantina for Sonoran Style Mexican food. Our favorite trail was West Fork - absolutely beautiful!! (Keep in mind that the Junipine is about 8 miles from town and we heard that during their peak tourist season, it can take you more than an hour to get there.) What a perfect place!

Excellent resort at a great price

We stayed at the Junipine the end of September 2005, a great time of year to vacation in the area.

We had a 2br forest view room with hot tub which was perfect for the four of us. The accomodations were very comfortable - the master bedroom was awesome with an in room fireplace and hot tub right outside. The upstairs bedroom was nice as well with a balcony overlooking the forest. The downstairs was very nicely furnished with a comfortable couch and loveseat in the livingroom, television with dvd player (and plenty of good movies at the front desk) - the fieldstone fireplace was another excellent touch. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to eat in and saved us a bunch of money by not having to go out to eat all the time. If you plan on cooking in a lot though, make sure you stock up on groceries because it's quite a drive into town.

I should also mention that the cleaning crew there does a magnificent job tidying up the room and add a lot of nice touches (you'll see what I mean if you stay there)

The resort itself is in a beautiful location with a nice little hiking path that connects to the Forest House Resorts (a nice easy hike to get your blood going in the morning). There is a moderate/ strenuous hike off the hiking path if you're looking for something a little more challenging.

I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for nice clean relaxing place to stay at a very reasonable price.

The only drawback is it's a about a 20 minute drive into downtown Sedona.
