Out of the bustle of Sedona

This is not really a resort but a collection of townhomes, some individually owned. Our group rented four, but we could have rented two and shared as each one seemed to have and an extra bedroom. Set next to Oak Creek about 6 miles North of Sedona, it was very comfortable. You can take an enjoyable walk on a trail along the creek.

Lovely stay at Junipine

by A TripAdvisor Member

We loved our 1 night stay at the Junipine resort. Our family of 5 stayed in a 2 bed cabin (#19), which actually had a loft room in addition to the two bedrooms, so we had loads of room to spread out.
The kitchen was very well stocked - the cabin was more like a home.Everything was as comfortable as it could be. We ate at the cafe and had an excellent meal.
The location is beautiful, right next to Oak creek. All in all a great place to stay, convenient for Sedona, much nicer than Flagstaff if you are going to the grand canyon.
We only wished that we had more time so we could have stayed for longer!

Location, Location, Location!

After reading the reviews, I decided to book three nights, midweek, at the Junipine resort in early February.
Staying at the Junipine can best be described as staying at an upscale lodge. The place is nestled in Oak Creek Canyon, 10 minutes up a twisty and breathtaking part of Hwy. 89A from the village of Uptown Sedona. While the Junipine seems to do everything right, it benefits most from its unsurpassed location. Rooms (we booked creekside) were really suites, with a comfortable master bedroom (w/ fireplace), upstairs loft w/ two twins, and a pull-out sofa in the living area. Kitchen had all necessary items for simple cooking. Cabinets and storage facilities were cheap and could definitely use a face-lift. I would not book creekside again, as our outdoor deck only overlooked it. Besides, we were in town or on hiking tours most days, so it was of little benefit to us. But I would stay here again, if only to escspe the seemingly growing commercialism of Sedona and to experience the real reason most people come here in the first place - to be one with the natural beauty of the area.

Peaceful location in Oak Creek Canyon

Spent two nights at the Junipine and we were not ready to leave. Great wooded spot along Oak Creek canyon with a good hiking trail up the river. Be advised that this is not a resort (no pool, etc.) nor does it have "cabins". You stay in condo type units that are not particularly luxurious. Our one bedroom unit (#14) had a loft for the kids and a nice master suite with a romantic fireplace. We also had a bit of a view of the creek from our "forest view" condo. The beds were very comfortable, but the rest of the furniture is a bit dated. All in all a relaxing getaway about 15 minutes upriver of Sedona, just past the slide creek park. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

A nice break from reality

My wife and I picked this resort for our 4 day/3 night stay primarily due to the reviews on tripadvisor. We are glad to say that what we have read is true. This place is a lovely getaway. We stayed in unit 30 which had 2 fireplaces and a private jacuzzi out on the deck. The kitchen was stocked nicely with all we needed to make breakfasts and dinners (except of course for the food). One word of advice make sure to purchase food for the place at big-chain food stores, not the place a few miles down 89A from Junipine that was charging $6 for a box of cereal. Junipine is about a 10 minute drive north from downtown Sedona (where all the shops and restaurants are). What that allows is for 100% tranquility around the resort. Our firewood supply was restocked daily and the room was cleaned well each day. Since you pay a little extra for a jacuzzi room, we made sure to get good use out of it. Pretty much our time in our room was spent either in the jacuzzi or sitting in front of the fireplace. As for Sedona itself, it has plenty to offer. The red rock formations are amazing! We did the Pink Jeep (Broken Arrow) tour which was a blast! All in all, no complaints about the resort, while it does sit along Oak Creek, I'd say only 5-10 rooms at the resort have an actual view of the Creek (ours wasn't one of them).
That didn't matter to us.

Thanksgiving Treat

This is where my family has its annual family reunion. The location is beautiful, the accomodations range from very nice to gorgeous (depending on which of the times-shares you get), and it's right outside of the touristy part of Sedona/shoppes/red ranges (10 minute drive max).

The property is nestled in a valley and it's quiet and serene. The units are well-taken care of and the staff is very helpful. The on-site restaurant is quite nice, though not exceptional. The shoppe helpers in town are friendly and Jerome is an interesting town to visit (don't order anything with guacamole-I don't think they get produce deliveries often).

The Junipines is lovely. I believe it would be nice for a couple, a family, or a set of friends to enjoy.
