  • Mouse poop in our kitchen wastebasket - Sedona

This place was awful! Our room faced an overflowing trash dumpster and my husband was up at 2AM our first night trying to remove the mouse that ran over his feet in the bathroom. We tried repeatedly to contact the front desk with no luck. In the morning we woke up to mouse poop all over our kitchen area. I've attached a picture of the wastebasket in the kitchen where the mouse did his business as well as various locations of poop in the kitchen covered by styrofoam cups. When he went to the front desk in the morning, they treated him as if he were making this up - until he brought the poop to the desk. When I called to voice my concerns about my 3 yr old being exposed to rodent droppings they just said "critters are the nature of the canyon and besides we're moving you to a bigger room." If we wanted to deal with "critters" we would have camped as we've done before. This was a mini vacation for us because we rarely have days off together so we were willing to spend the money for something nice. This was NOT it. We'll deal with "critters" for a few bucks a night at a campground - not $189/night!

The bigger room they gave us - without offering any money back - smelled horrible and had a steak knife sticking out from between the fridge and cabinet. Fortunately my husband spotted it before our daughter did. Do they even clean this place? They did bring some air freshener and said they'd contact the owner. When we checked out - we paid on arrival - the unhelpful person at the front desk just shrugged her shoulders and said the owner wasn't going to do anything.
Wow - dirty rooms, mice and NO customer service whatsoever!!! And we paid a lot of money (for us) for that.

Basically we made the best of having some time together as a family but we'll never go back to this establishment and probably won't be back to Sedona anytime soon. There are plenty of other places in AZ with beautiful scenery and businesses that appreciate their customers.
