Only Worthwhile Coffee shop in Tempe

I wish I had found this place earlier because it is amazing. It's fairly small but does a lot with it's limited area. They have very comfortable couches where you will find people reading and working on their laptops. On the walls local art which changes regularly is displayed. During the day they play some good "coffeeshop indie". Later at night I've found the music better (Massive Attack, Velvet Underground, Boards of Canada). Patrons and employess are very friendly and they also serve some vegetarian dishes. The coffeehouse has turned into somewhat of a community center and hosts live jazz every wednesday, occasional concerts and some very interesting events. The past few months they hosted an all day local music festival and an Africa Jam which included music, a bakesale, political speakers, etc. If your looking for the only coffeshop with character in this area this is it!

Tempe is located in Maricopa County. Tempe is also the location of the
head offices of US Airways (formerly America West Airlines) and the main
campus of Arizona State University.

Tempe is a two time winner of the All-America City Award given annually
by the National Civic League in 1984/85 and 2003/2004 ....

Tempe is also the site of one of the nation's biggest New Year's Eve parties.
It was the home for the Fiesta Bowl, although it will move to Glendale.

On New Year's Eve, the city has the Tostito's Fiesta Bowl Block Party.
The event will normally have a national band headling in concert, along with
other lesser known local bands. The most recent one was the 21 event and
featured Blues Traveler.

It was also the site of one of the three Presidential debates in 2004 and
Super Bowl XXX ......
