"Graham County Historical Society and Museum"
Located in the small town of Thatcher is the Graham County Historical Society and Museum. The museum has a large number of artifacts from the local area and pioneer families who settled the community. They hold seminars throughout the year to highlight the varied and colorful history of the area showing the historic, Native American, western & pioneer culture of the Gila Valley and its surroundings. They have everything from prehistoric fossils to an invitation to Abraham Lincoln's inauguration to the first television in Thatcher. There are 15 rooms of exhibits. It is really a pretty impressive museum.
"Historic Brinkerhoff Hotel"
The Brinkerhoff Hotel was built in 1900 by the Hyrum Brinkerhoff family. The hotel staff would meet the train at the Thatcher Depot and take guests with their baggage and wares to the hotel. The wife, Maggie Brinkerhoff, served great meals to both guests and the general public. The Brinkerhoff Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
"Eastern Arizona College"
Eastern Arizona College was established in 1890 in the nearby town of Central. It moved to Thatcher the next year. There are a number of historic buildings on the campus. The most interesting structure to me is the Clock Tower which is dedicated to the people and ideas of the community that made Eastern Arizona College possible.
