Best value in Tombstone

This is a great hotel with immaculately done gardens and a hotel which was renovated and I must say done very tastefully for the area. All the rooms face the famous Dragoon Mountains and in the evening they do light the firepits and in-house bar can serve you beer or wine. Most importantly, it is the only hotel serving HOT cooked to order breakfast included in your room rate. You can always tell the operation of the hotel through employees --excellent team , willing to help and very informative about the history and sites of the area. Unbelieveable stay--will be back and will definitely recommend to our friends. This is the only place to stay in TOMBSTONE. Had a lovely time.

Unique Quality: This hotel sits right next to Holiday Inn closer to town. I am sorry to say the Holiday Inn to us looks like a prison and they are more expensive and only offer continentel breakfast. This is a historic hotel, views are just breathtaking. Great swimming pool and a great team.

Not worth going to

I HAVE TRAVELLED ALL OVER AMERICA USING BEST WESTERN BUT I NOW WISHED I HAD NEVER USED THIS ONE.
IT IS OVER PRICED AND HE OVER CHARGES YOU FOR BREAKFAST.
USE ONE OF THE HOTELS THAT ARE IN TOMBSTONE AND NOT THIS HOTEL.
I DID HEAR IN TOMBSTONE THAT HE IS NOT LIKED BECAUSE IT GIVES EVER ONE THE WRONG IMPRESSION ABOUT TOMBSTONE.
SO NEXT TIME I GO ,I WILL USE ONE IN THE TOWN
IF YOU WOULD LIKE A GOOD PLACE TO EAT "LONGHORN" IN TOMBSTONE DID A GREAT EVENING MEAL AND A BRILLIANT BREAKFAST AT A GOOD PRICE SERVICE BRILL.
HOPE THIS HELPS ANOTHER FELLOW TRAVELLER. SAFE JOURNEY TO ALL.

Unique Quality: I THINK I HAVE SAID EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW.
OH! BY THE WAY HE HAS THREE MACHINES ONE FOR ICE WHICH YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR CARD INTO TO MAKE IT WORK( WHO'S GOING TO GET ICE FROM THERE THAT IS NOT STAYING THERE AS IT IS AT THE TOP OF THE HILL.
THE OTHER TWO MACHINES WERE EMPTY.

The Hotel with the best view in Tombstone

The Best Western is on the right on the way into town on Highway 80 as you reach the outskirts of Tombstone coming from the north west. There is a steep drive up to a drive-in registration office, behind which are three blocks of accommodation on two levels with a car park behind each. The rooms are large, clean, and elegantly furnished and decorated with tiled en-suite bathrooms and toilets and king sized beds.

Unique Quality: There is a medium sized pool behind one of the accommodation blocks although it was empty and being cleaned when we were there.

As the whole Motel is set on a hillside facing across open country, with the town of Tombstone on rising ground off to the right, every single apartment, both ground floor and on the balcony level above has a spectacular view out over the Arizona landscape with a breathtaking sweep of sky and a great starscape at night. There are park benches outside in the open where one can sit amongst the cactus and enjoy the sky.

Outside the entrance block which contains a pleasant dining and breakfast area, there is a covered walkway with a free ice machine which can be accessed with one's room key from which we stocked our in-car insulated ice chest for our journey the next day.

In front of that building two cylindrical concrete fire pits are set in the ground, with low surrounding walls like the top of two white wells, with benches set around them in a semi-circle. A gas fed living flame burns in them all night long, like a campfire. It was quite delightfully romantic to sit around these open fires with a cold beer in hand enjoying the velvet darkness and spectacular stars of an Arizona summer's night.

The whole place had a lovely "laid back" ambiance, we would highly recommend it and we shall stay there again as we shall certainly be visiting Tombstone again in future.

It cost us $84 for a double room for one night including breakfast (which unfortunately we had to leave too early to partake of.) This was more expensive than other Best Western Motels we have stayed in, but it was worth the extra for the location and quality of the site.
