Lodge On The Desert

Beautiful inn built in traditional SW Pueblo-style architecture. Rooms were very nice with comforatble king-size beds. Staff were helpful and friendly. They are adding a large number of rooms to the inn (Dec 2007) so there will be daytime noise for a while. Exellent (and expensive) restuarant on premises. There is also a bar. Most rooms have a nice outdoor area with the more expensive rooms having a private ourdoor area.

Unique Quality: Grounds were beautifully landscaped and included the largest Prickly Pear cactus I had ever seen. There are outdoor fireplaces that a lit at night which really add to the ambiance. There is a smallish pool in the middle of the complex - it is also very well landscaped.

Directions: On East side of Alvernon north of El Con Mall - not real easy to spot as it is somewhat inconspicuous from the road - watch from a deep terra cotta colored adobe-like building
