Super Location for Tucson
The main drag in Tucson is Speedway drive and this Super 8 Motel is just off it by a block. We used Orbitz for the reservation, but actually, it's probably better to contact the proprietor of this franchise directly for a better deal. The room was on the second floor in the back building of the hotel, so we had to leave our car out in an area not directly observed by the office, which is a good thing for dog owners. But, this hotel had many dog owners in this wing. The balcony had a big crack in the concrete, something that would have worried me except for the extensive rebar reinforcement inside the concrete. The room itself was clean and amenties included color television. Since it was the day after Christmas, we had to drive quite a ways to find an open restaurant. See my lucky tip on this.
Unique Quality: Pet Friendly. I recommend using a cage for your animal as a courtesy for the next motel patron. The owners were friendly and helpful toward finding an open restaurant for us. If you don't like the hotel, right next door is a more glamorous locally owned Flamingo Hotel with a brightly lit sign. The Super 8 price is what makes this a good deal.
