F104 Starfighter
by mht_in_la
This is F104, nicknamed "Starfighter". It's special for me to see this one in PIMA Air and Space Museum for when I was younger I used to work on a military construction site building tunnels to shelter these F104 fighters. F104 was designed by Lockheed, used by the U.S. Airforce from 1958 to 1980. It's still used in many third world countries around the world.
UA Games
by danieltrue
When the University of Arizona Wildcats are in town, the city comes to a halt. College football is a major part of life here in Tucson. I don't go to the games, but it seems every other Tucsonan does. Traffic sucks during the games and only gets worse when everybody tries to leave the game when it's over.
If you like hiking, I don't know where to begin. There are so many places where you can go and hike that it is just unbelieveable. Hope I spelled that right. Sabino Canyon, east of Tucson, is a very popular hiking place. Joggers also line the pathways that go all around the place.
If you like swimming, your out of luck, unless you want to go to the waterpark. There are no lakes in the city and you really have to drive south if you want to go swimming in a natural like setting. Like 40 miles.
Golf is another thing in Tucson that is very popular. Not with me. We have so many golf courses, I can't even count them all if I tried. I think last year, we had one of the PGA games come to town. They like it I guess.
Sacret mountains
by mht_in_la
The photo shows Baboquivari Peak. At 7,730 feet, it's the tallest in the area. Kitt Peak is the second at 6,875 feet; both are visible from the city of Tucson. Baboquivari is also the most sacret in the mind of Tonoho O'odham tribe. In their creation story, the reproductive powers of the universe give birth to the Papagueria and the world thanks to I'itoi, the god who lives in Waw kiwalik, or Baboquivari Peak.
In fact, the whole observatory is under the perpetual agreement with the Tohono O'odham Nation to use only the 200 acres on the top of Kitt Peak, as long as it's for scientific, not commercial purpose. Therefore, inside the observatory there's no cafeteria (considered commercial). There's only a small shop selling souvenirs and local handcrafts. Bring your own lunch if you think you'll get hungry.

Great Place to Eat and Meet
by Basaic about Maloney's Tavern
Maloney's is one of the best places to go on 4th Avenue for fun, music, and to meet people. They serve sandwiches, sliders, quesadillas, and burgers; but mostly people come here to drink and meet new people. Very popular hangout for U of A students. Try the Fiji Chicken Sandwich a blackened chicken breast with an avocado slice, tomato, onion, bean sprouts, muenster cheese, and jalapeno mustard, for $8.95.
