Cotter Arkansas' population is 921 so you can guess that there is not much to do here but shop at flea markets and fish on the amazing White River. The trout which are inhabitated in this river which runs from the Bull Shoals Dam are the brown, rainbow, cutthroat, and even brook trout. You can wade or take a boat out depending on how much water the dam is sending through at the time. There are other lakes in the area for water sports if you prefer that.
When you've caught your limit of rainbow trout, you'll want to stroll around the historic downtown area and see the restored buildings. Cotter was built in the early years of the 20th century, a railroad boomtown which soon became the largest town in North Arkansas.
