I am trying to figure out arkansas public transportation too. If you get any hits save the info. Are you traveling out of the state on to another one. I am arriving so Late I can't find where to get a car or a shuttle service at 11:30 at night.

Travel Tips for Eureka Springs

Drive over to Beaver Dam

by Restless-in-kl

After passing Thorncrown Chapel and continuing on the road, you can get to Beaver Dam which is beautiful with crystal clear waters and a host of activities that you can enjoy.

We saw a group of divers learning how to dive here. Visibility would be great but not sure what you can see here and water was freezing cold!

SAndwich Drop Off

by BruceDunning about Eureka Grill

During a hard day of shopping, when you feet are burning, and you are thirsty and hungry, you could try this. It will not fill you up, but at least you saved room for a big dinner later. Basic sandwiches run between $6-8. That seems a bit steep, and get some chips with that. Daily specials are choice of a couple, and costs range of $7-9. It feels like a deli, that heats up the sandwiches, but was okay. We had the polish sausage on a bun

Beautiful Thorncrown Chapel

by Restless-in-kl

You walk down a wooded trail, move around a curve and there stands a majestic glass chapel- so beautiful- so close to God. This is Thorncrown Chapel.

Thorncrown was the dream of retired school teacher, Jim Reed. In 1978 Jim enlisted the help of renowned architect E. Fay Jones to design a place of worship for the visitors to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The result was a forty-eight foot tall wooden structure with 425 windows which was completed in 1980.

Walking into the chapel you immediately feel a sense of peace and wonder. It felt like you are worshipping in the outdoors with the trees surrounding you completely.

Truly a beautiful place.

Open the following hours:

April through November 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (The chapel will be closed on Saturdays in November of 2006.)

March and December 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Charming & Quaint Eureka Springs, AK

"Visit Eureka Springs, AK"

This is such a quaint and charming little town! I was there in the fall which only added to the ambiance! The fall colors were everywhere with the lush tree's. The streets are adorable and very easy to walk around. There are small springs tucked all of the place so take your time exploring to find them. This little town is full of wonderful places to dine, my favorite was by far Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse. Emile's Italian restaurant was also a great place to eat. Make reservations for both. The town is full of history, local artists and character! Even ghost stories to keep the kids hooked.

I look forward to going back and will try to time it around Christmas because I have heard that it is even more enchanting then!
