Travel Tips for Eureka Springs
Proof Is Written on the Foreheads
by mrclay2000
As in most Victorian-era towns in the United States, Eureka Springs tells its age on countless facades along its historic lanes. Most date from the 1890s but as Eureka Springs began to develop and draw visitors in the 1870s, there are a handful of dates from the decade in between. Expect new tenants below though you might read "bank" or some private name in the entablature.
Beaver Lake-Tablerock Lake
by BruceDunning
This is a peaceful setting, and has a suspension bridge over the water here. The town is very small and sleepy. A owner of Rogues Manor in Eureka Springs must own the food store here, and is building -for a long time- a home/castle across the lake. It is a fishing and boating area around here. The lakes all connect and the White River is the link to most.
The Hungry Hare in Pine...
by brdwtchr
The Hungry Hare in Pine Mountain Village is a sandwich shop. It is not great but if you are in the mood for a sandwich give it a try.
What I liked best about the Hungry Hare was not the restaurant but the tower out front. I climbed it before we ate to work up an appetite. The tower is an old fire spotting platform. It is high enough to take scenic photos from. If you still have not worked up an appetite after climbing the tower walk around Pine Mountain Village. It has lots of shops for tourists to spend money at. Specialty sandwiches, soups, and salads are all fine.
Quigley's Castle is more like...
by brdwtchr
Quigley's Castle is more like a very interesting and unique home than a castle. I was fascinated by the history of it and how it was built.
Bottle trees and stone fencing surrounded by flowers in the garden. The woman who built the house collected interesting rocks for years until she had saved enough to make a house out of.
Pride of diversity.

"A really pleasant surprise."
I started taking weekend holidays here about 5 years ago. It was not at all what I expected. Once you get beyond the cheesy shops and attractions you'll find a place rich in history, full of interesting people, and some of the most beautiful scenery in America. Its the most stress-free place I've ever been.
