Travel Tips for Hot Springs
Have an ache or a pain that...

Have an ache or a pain that just won't respond to anything? Well, come join the crowd that gathers daily at one of THE hot springs and take a dip. If you don't want to do the 'real' thing at a bathhouse, you can plunge that sore thumb or aching ankle into the thermal waters here free. But Beware! - the temperatures can reach 145 degrees F. I am not able to stand the heat for more than a few seconds at a time. Also, if you are chlostrophobic, the baths might not be for you (I am, and they're not for me!)

This is the Fordyce Bathhouse, it now serves as the visitor center of the National Park.
The insert picture shows the dome of one of the spa buildings. You can be sure that the interior is just as luxurious as the exterior.
My Short Visit to Hot Springs

"A nice, touristy town with beautiful scenery"
When driving into Hot Springs, the first thing you notice is the beautiful surroundings. The Ouachita Mountains, although short as far as mountains go, are beautiful. Everything is very green and there are several lakes with sparkling waters.
Hot Springs seems to have outgrown itself a bit. The roads are very congested. It's a bit rundown, which is to be expected of such an old town. But we found we enjoyed our visit overall. If you are looking for oil paintings, this is the place! We got a beautiful painting for only $50.
