Visit one of the many parks. Hot Springs is located in a valley that was known by the Indians here as Tah-Ne-Co, or 'place of the hot waters.' According to tradition, this land was regarded as neutral by the various tribes. It was first visited by the white man on Sept. 16, 1541, when Hernando De Soto and his men camped in the vicinity and were led here by the Indians. They camped, bathed and departed on Oct. 5, 1541.
Water, Get Your Water Here...

All around Hot Springs (seemingly), there are places where one can get some of that fresh, hot springs water. I even bough a gallon jug and filled up and took some to New York! I guess the Hot Springs water is only piped to certain areas. Anyhow, I though this was quite unique. So if your passing through, grab a jug, and get some water!

We visit Hot Springs frequently since Tony's sister and mother live there. It is a great place to go a just kick back and relax, do a little shopping and take a nice walk in one of the beautiful parks.
A couple of years ago, we drove down the week before Christmas. During our stay we went into town to do some Christmas shopping. What a treat. The town was all decked out for Christmas, the weather was warm enough for sweaters and light jackets and the shops were fantastic. We also visited one of the old spas that has been turned into a museum. I will have to look at my notes and get the actual name for you soon. The link I have listed below is a great page for you the check out on things to do, places to stay, etc.
I will continue to work on this page, so come back soon.
