Hi,
Could anyone tell me rough times when dogwood, redbud, rhododendron, and azaleas usuallu bloom. Ballpark figures are OK, of course, as I realize it can vary from year to year. Thanks in advance.
dogwood - mid April to early May
redbud - towards the end of March to mid/early April
rhododendron - spring? too hot?
azaleas - April is the best time but late March and early May will have some activity
The Arkansas State Capitol is located in Little Rock. It has the distinction of being a nearly exact replica of the National Capitol. If you come at the right time, you might be lucky enough to see a movie crew 'blowing up' the US Capitol and using us instead!
Villa Marre - If you happen to be in Little Rock, be sure and drive through the Quapaw Quarter, the old historic part of the city. Many of the turn-of-the-century homes have been restored, such as this one, Villa Marre. If it looks famaliar to you, it's because it served as the setting on the sitcom hit 'Designing Women'.
The reason I was there was because of my business project which actually took me back 3 more times. The people in Little Rock were friendly and Arkansas in many ways were very different from the Pacific Northwest.
