Russellville, AR: overlooked gem
Okay, so I have a good reason to visit Russellville. :) I have been there twice, and was genuinely impressed. It is a small-ish town (about 25,000) at the foot of the Boston Mountains. There is a great deal of 'country' feel to the place -- lots of outdoors. The town itself has both a hometown and a metropolitan feel.
My roommate is from Russellville, and praises the town's open-mindedness: the mindset is much like California in many ways. There are coffee shops, chiropractors and natural food stores, features I wouldn't expect to find in a small town in Arkansas.
