Travel Tips for Stuttgart
Rice and Duck Capital of the World
by Stephen-KarenConn
Stuttgart is proud to call itself the "Rice and Duck Capital of the World." Situated on the Mississippi Flyway, and surrounded by thousands of acres of rice paddies and lakes, it certainly attracts its share of migrating ducks. The area also attracts many sportsmen who come here to hunt wild ducks in season.
Stuttgart is situated in the largest rice producing region of he United States and is the home of Riceland Foods, the world's largest rice miller and rice marketer. When driving across the flat terrain of eastern Arkansas you will see the large grain elevators full of rice for many miles before you reach the town. There are so many of them that from a distance they can give the impression of an imposing city skyline.
