More about Comfort Inn Maingate

Great Disneyland deal

by TripAdvisor Member davidjbaer

The Comfort Inn Maingate is a great place to stay at a great price for your Disneyland vacation. We stayed in one of their Family Suites. The suite was two queen beds and a bunk bed. It was basic but everything we needed. Clean and comfortable and a place to sleep after long days at Disneyland.

The breakfast is simple: cereal, rolls, toast, frozen waffles (for the toaster), fruit, juices, milk and coffee. It was enough. The breakfast area was adequate but could be too small at really busy times.

The Comfort Inn is too far from the Disneyland entrance to walk (especially after a long Disney day). We drove to the park everyday and paid the $10 for parking. There are hotels directly across from the Disneyland entrance. If you're looking for one of those check out the Desert Inn or Ramada Inn. Use their address to help with distance information.

Decent budget hotel

by A TripAdvisor Member

We just got back from a 4 night stay here.

Things that we liked about the Comfort Inn Maingate...

The staff was very friendly and courteous. We asked for extra pillows and got them right away. Our room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels and soaps were left each time.

Priced very reasonably.

It's the first stop on the ART to and from Disneyland. A definite bonus since the buses filled up quickly and later stops often weren't able to get on because it was too full.

Free continental breakfast was nice. It was basic stuff (danishes, waffles, apples, oranges, cheerios, oatmeal, watered down juice & coffee). Not really nutritious overall, but helpful to the budget.

The standard room with 2 queen beds was quite large.. bigger than most others we've stayed at.

Plenty of hot water & water pressure.

Plenty of parking (free).

Fridge & safe in the room.

What we didn't like about it...

The carpets were stained. Definitely needed a good steam cleaning. I have an 11 month old son and worried about him crawling on the floors.

We had a room close to Harbor Blvd (room 202) and it was loud. We could hear the trucks driving by at night. I'd recommend asking for a room further away from the street.

Bedspreads looked a bit old. Clean, but in need of replacement.

The bathroom was tiny!

Overall the place really is a decent deal for a traveler on budget. It is an older hotel but despite that they are clearly trying to keep it looking as nicely as possible.

The Best Motel We Have Stayed In...

by A TripAdvisor Member

The rooms were very clean and huge. We stayed here 1 night at the Comfort Inn Miangate. The beds were comfortable and the room was cheap for the price. The free breakfast was very good and had a variety of choices. If your eating in the breakfast room, you can also watch on thier plasma TV screens there. If your planning to go to Disneyland, you should take the shuttle or your car. If you walk, it will take forever. It was not noisy at all, it was quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of hot water and it made our trip to Disneyland a memorable one. Hopefully, if you stay in this hotel, your trip will be too.

Disneyland Vacation

by A TripAdvisor Member

We just got back from our Disneyland vacation. The rooms were very clean we upgraded to a kids suite ( which our kids loved) we were very happy with the accomidations except the last night we were there the motel had rented rooms to what I think were teenagers who had went to prom. It was really loud but upon calling to complain they were already handeling the situation. We will definately stay here again.

Best To Stay Elsewhere

by A TripAdvisor Member

My family and I stayed for 1 week. The only good thing I can say about this motel is that their continental breakfast was pretty good. Fresh waffles, toast, oranges and apples, juice, coffee, 3 types of cereals, milk, pastries and hard boiled eggs. Their location is good and there are several restaurants nearby. The Disneyland Express stops in front and the Disney Resort Bus stops next door. Disneyland is only a 10-15 minute walk from the motel.

From there, it's all down hill. The beds were like lying on a wooden box. Don't take your shoes off, the floor is filthy. No microwave as advertised. Maid service was hit & miss. Coffee packets and cups were not left 3 of 7 days and we also had to hunt down the maids for clean towels. None of them seemed to speak english so trying to relay the need for towels was difficult. Asking for coffee packs was pointless. The telephones didn't work for 1 1/2 days. My rental car was sideswiped one night in the parking lot which was overcrowded. No witness or note left. To top it all off, no maid service came until 5 PM on our 6th day and our key cards had to be re-coded. They evidently had our departure date messed up even though we had it confirmed in writing.

Best to stay elsewhere if you can afford it.

Discount Motel

We stayed for three nights in July at this motel. We checked in at midnight (the lobby was closed so you have to speak through the side window-yuck) and then got to our room. The room itself was fine, very basic but what you need when going to Disneyland. The bed was VERY firm. The fridge was not very cold. The people on the upper level can be noisy. The pool is small. the breakfast is so-so but hey it is free. If you pay around $50 a night you got a good deal, especially in the summer. If I had a choice I would not stay there again, I would pony up the dough for a nicer place.

good value for your money

by TripAdvisor Member lexa

spent 2 nights there.
we rented junior suit that comes with an extra bedrrom with bunk bed. excellent for kids.
the room was clean, continental breakfast was as usual - nothing special.
there was some kind of teenager (graduation?) gathering in the hotel and its parking lot, a bit noisy, but didn't bother us too much, can happen at any similar priced hotel I guess.
sdisney huttle stop is within 100 feet from the office

Wonderful place to stay near disneyland

by TripAdvisor Member meh7976

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel within the past year. This stay was 7/24-7/26: We had a King sized bed and liked the fact that the whole hotel is non-smoking. We didn't take advantage of the free breakfast but did use the refrig. for picnic supplies. I like the fact that this hotel is close to Disneyland, on the trolley loop, have in room safes and laundry facilities.

I woud highly recommend this hotel to families going to disney as well as anyone else staying in the area.

We felt safe staying there being 2 females.

old, moldy, and disgusting!

by TripAdvisor Member gwwyjjliu

Room looked as if it hadn't been updated in 30 years, with lime green carpet and sponge cake mattresses. Horrible moldy smell coming out of A/C unit. Free breakfast was a mass feeding frenzy with hungry hotel guests all fighting for the single waffle maker. I gave Hotwire an earful for booking us this sorry excuse for a hotel. Thank fully it was only for 2 nights.

OK for the Price

by TripAdvisor Member ldf1973

We stayed for 2 nights to go to Disneyland, the hotel was clean, and ok for the price. The breakfast was crowded and didn't seem to have enough to feed everyone.
