We will be driving from Anaheim, California heading to Las Vegas sometime mid of August. Does anyone out there have good short easy route? Any details would be greatly appreciated! Cheers to all!

Yeah, that one way is to get to Highway I-15 heading north. There are a number of ways to get to that highway depending on where you are in Anaheim. If you are leaving from the east side of Anaheim, then 91 east to I-15 north is the only way. If you are in the west, south, or north, then also consider this route in addition to 91: 57 north to 60 east to I-15 north. You'll also want to check traffic conditions for either route before you leave, as heavy traffic on either route can add a lot to your driving time.

I-15 really is the best route from where you are - there are other possibilities but they will be far more crowded. Also carry some water with you because you will be in some very hot and dry areas after crossing the pass that takes you into the desert. If your car starts to overheat, turn off the AC - you would be amazed at the number of cars that overheat and "die" by the side of the road out there. Another thing to do to cool off a car is to tun on the heater - I know this sounds strange but it pulls heat away from the engine.

Travel Tips for Anaheim
Guest Assistance Card
by Yaqui
For anyone who knows of someone who has a disability of any kind will help dearly with access into the many attractions especially those with wheel chairs. This card is a blessing. I found out about it from a friend who has a Autistic child too. Once you enter the main entrance head over to Guest Relations where the Information Center is by City Hall, which is just inside the entrance to the left. They did ask me a series of questions to prove if Nate had a disability and I was given this card. You use the card at the exit entrances and are given special access so you don't have to wait in the long lines, which is dramatic for any child, (but times that by ten for someone who is Autisitc)or lines that make it difficult for wheelchairs or any other type disability access. It helped so much for Nate to be able to truely enjoy all the rides. The only place we had a long wait was the Pirates of the Caribbean because they had a special boat to assit those with special disabilities so all could enjoy! To see the wonderful happy faces of those less fortune than us was a blessing too as they too enjoyed the day of dreams.
Strollers and Wheelchairs for Hire
by joanj
Whilst this is not a favourite thing, I did not know where else to put this piece of information. However it would be favourite with parent's as there is a lot of walking around for toddlers to do.
There are Strollers and Wheelchairs available for hire, as too are Braille guidebooks.
More information on this at the Information Centre just inside the entrance.
Mid week visit
by TinKan
Try to make your visit to Disneyland on a Tuesday to Thursday. If you do you will find yourself rewarded with short lines and a better chance to enjoy yourself at the park.
Tickets are ranging around $50.00 per adult so get the most for your money and come mid week.
Edison Field
by DueSer
As previously mentioned, my goal in life is to visit all the Major League baseball stadiums. Here is my review of Edison Field.
First let me say, I liked the old stadium and as gross as Edison Field is, I'm not sure why they bothered to build a new one. At least they kept the giant A.
1) Arrival & Departure
This is excellent. I give it a 5 (on a scale of 1-5, where 1 is horrible). There is a large parking lot surrounding the field and it's all on one level so walking in from your car is easy. It's near the freeways so when you leave, getting out and away quickly is pretty easy.
2) Food
I give it a 3. There's nothing real exciting to say about the food. It's okay but considering the number of rats that allegedly live in the stadium, eating there makes me a bit nervous.
3) Comfort
I give this a 4. The stadium is designed well, seats are comfy, rows have plenty of leg room, & there are lots of restrooms.
4) Enjoyment
I give this a 2. First of all, there is the humiliation of the team being called "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim." If that isn't the stupidest piece of yuppie "spin" I have ever heard, I don't know what is. I don't blame the city of Anaheim for being royally mad. Also making me uncomfortable is the news reports from the 2007 season that the city health dept. was citing Edison Field for several violations. Evidently, the problem stems from the fact that after a night game, they don't clean up the trash until the next day. Naturally the rats come in over night and get first dibs on the food remnants. Yuck.
Also, they tend to be wild about those "Thunder Sticks" and I seem to always get a seat beside some kid who wants to make thunder for the entire game. Not fun.
They do have a nice waterfall thing happening in the outfield tho - with big water spouts shooting up with a homerun. That's kind of neat.
Overall, a 3 1/2 and that's being generous. I only go if I have tickets from a friend. Disclaimer - I haven't been to the stadium since 2003 so if some of these problems have been fixed, my review could be outdated.
ToonTown at Disneyland
by TinKan
There is a little know area of Disneyland that not many people go to. It is toontown.
Toontown is located at the back of the park near the Small World ride. Here you can walk around and make a fool of yourself and fit right in without any problems.
Keep an eye out for all the characters and for the little slapstick that goes on in this area.
