Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel Anaheim

My family stayed at the Howard Johnson Plaza at Anaheim from 12 to 15 September. It is conveniently within walking distance of Disneyland and there is a good restaurant (Mimi's) just opposite where we had many meals. We found the staff at the reception to be very helpful. Although advertised as having been renovated recently, the rooms and carpeting looked drab and the bathtub was small. However, the rooms were a good size and there was a cosy atmosphere at our block (furthest from the reception). Another plus was that our rooms happened to be conveniently near the laundry room. I would recommend this accomodation.

Accomodations in the Disneyland area are generally of a very high standard. Whether your choosing the luxury Disneyland Hotel, or the budget Penny Sleeper Inn, you'll find that the rooms are clean and the service is excellent. There is so much competition around the Disneyland area that all the hotels and motels are quite adequate.
I recommend the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel. Its reletively cheap and comfortable, the service is great and my favourite restaurant - Coco's - is just next door!
The best way is to get a package deal to the US from your travel agent. I fully recommend Qantas Airways and it is the ONLY airline i will fly if i can help it.
There are some great land and air packages from Qantas - just pick up a brochure from your local travel agent. The pool!! Even if your travelling in winter, a hotel with a pool is a great asset. Swimming in the hotel pool is great for refreshing yourself after a long long flight or even spending a day at Disneyland! I found that a swim really relieved my jet lag.
Also there is an ice machiene and a drink vending machiene on every floor.
Very nice!

A friend and I stayed at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel on Labor Day weekend. The staff was wonderful--very accomodating and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Disneyland was about a seven minute walk. We also rode the trolley a couple of times, which was fun, too--and only $3 for the whole day.
All my room requests (balcony, parkside view) were honored. All in all, a very good bargain. I would stay there again.
Great value; awesome service; excellent overall stay!

We just returned from a 8-night stay at the HOJO's Anaheim, and we were very pleased. We hadn't been to this hotel for several years, and we were happy to discover it still is a great value for the Disneyland visitor. The rooms are updated, clean, and well-maintained. The two pools and hot tub are also clean, and well-stocked with towels. The service at the front desk is excellent, and the gift store with its wide variety of useful travel items, and fairly-priced goods is a bonus. Another bonus is the free high-speed internet access. Our reservation was made online, and was complete and correct when we arrived. We were able to watch the Disneyland fireworks from either the hot tub or our balcony. In addition, there's a 24-hour guest laundry with brand new washers and dryers. Overall, a very good family hotel--we'd stay there again in a heartbeat. p.s. this hotel is within walking distance to Disneyland, and close to many restaurants and shops. Cheers.
What? A Friendly staff not employed by Disney!?

We stayed one night in Sept. 2002. We arrived at 8 a.m. My husband went in to see if we could just get a parking pass/free trolley pass to avoid having to park at Disneyland. They went two better. Not only did they let us check into our room that early, but they gave us a room on the top floor with a balcony and semi view of the park. The room was beautiful, vaulted ceilings and decorated in a yellow floral print.
Everything looks recently remodeled except the bathrooms....but they don't look shabby. The room was huge also. We got the room for a great deal at $65. Trying to plan a return trip, I haven't found the rooms at this hotel for anything less than $71. It's within walking distance of the parks, its not worth the wait to use the free trolley.
HoJo is tops! Consistently impressive.

We stayed in the HoJo for the third time in October 2003. On our previous trips to Disneyland over the last three years, we have stayed at the HoJo. The rates are consistently low, the grounds are beautiful, the staff is nice, the pool is awesome, the rooms are large, the walk to Disneyland is short. Our room this time 2119 - even had free high-speed Internet (though this can easily defeat the purpose of a vacation with work email so easily at-hand). In all, HoJos provides the best bang-for-the-buck for Disneyland stays and we plan on taking our family back to the HoJo and Disneyland in the future.
