More about Super 8 Anaheim / Near Disneyland
Excellent Value For The Price
by TripAdvisor Member XPhile
Booked the motel through an agent. Wanted the least expensive place to stay since we would be at Disneyland all day and only sleeping in the room. Other choice was the Red Roof Inn but it was a bit further to Disneyland than the Super 8. Room was clean but the carpet dirty and we had to wear our shoes.
-Beds were comfortable.
-Shower head was only four feet from the floor.
-Breakfest was donuts, toast, coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
-Staff was friendly.
-Room was quiet.
-TV was small.
-Fridge was $5 a day extra.
-Fridge and microwave was $8 a day.

Dirt cheap motel near Disneyland

Dirt cheap motel near Disneyland. Small smelly room with old furniture and bathroom. Surprisingly nice swimming pool.
If you are on a budget then this is the place for you.
Don't Stay Here

The people that work here are very unhelpful. The room had very uncomfortable beds.
They don't let you have more towels. I wanted ice and the ice machine was broken so I walked to the other side of the hotel and the other one was broken too. I went down stairs and there was 1 more and guess what? It gave me 9 I cubes and broke. I went to sleep and I wanted to take a bath in the morning and found a bug dead on the floor of the bathroom. While I took a bath a roach or large brownish roach looking bug was crawling on the ceiling. I was worried it would jump in and I rushed my bath and left the bathroom light on so more would not come out. I was going to get the continental breakfast but then I thought about (if there's 1 there is a million more). I did not want to eat at that dirty place. I cancelled my reservations for the next day and I quickly got a room at the Portifino where it is more expensive but clean.
For 105$ a night there should at least be ice and definately a clean bathroom too.
The Ritz it Ain't! But you must have known that when you booked it!

okay, the carpet was vacuumed but it was still dirty. The sheets were cleaner than the ones I got at the $400 a night Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT. The bathroom was clean. Everything in our room worked. At first the A/C didn't, but they sent the guy down IMMEDIATELY and he fixed it, worked fine after that. The staff were nice. I didn't get awakened at night by people partying. This place is definitely a place to lay your head for rock bottom prices. I have no complaints. Would I want to spend a week here, no. Was it convenient to Angels stadium and Disneyland? Absolutely. You could walk down the street and not fear for your life. It was fine.
Great value, great location

This motel is in a great location - only about 5 minutes walk from Disneyland. The staff were very helpful, the complimentary safety deposit boxes at the desk were accessible at all times and the rooms were spacious and clean. The only negative thing about the motel is the complimentary breakfast - don't bother getting up for it!! It consists of a drink and toast or a muffin/doughnut!! The pool and spa tub are fine to relax in after a long day on your feet and the motel were very helpful in booking us day trips which were arranged to pick us up and drop us back at the motel. There was also free parking which was a bonus and good views from the motel of the Disney fireworks! In summary this is a good motel which is great value for money - I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.
Lacking in amenities and customer service

We recently returned from a trip to Disneyland where we stayed at the Anaheim Super 8 Motel located on Katella. Although the rooms were clean and the location to Disneyland was perfect I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it to any of my friends. The room we stayed in to my knowledge did not have internet access. Tthere was no coffee pot, microwave or refrigerator. The hotel is old and desperately needs to be updated and modernized.
When my husband went to the office to report a grease/oil spill on the cement walkway (which could have led to a slip and fall accident and possibly a lawsuit) he was treated very rudely.
The hotel description indicates they have a complimentary breakfast . . . . HA!!! The room where you are supposed to eat your "complimentary breakfast" is smaller than most of the rooms at the hotel. Upon entering the room there is a person there watching you and a sign on the wall that states you are allowed only 1 cup of coffee and 1 donut. The complimentary breakfast consists of just that, coffee, donuts, toast and juice - big deal.
I was looking for a nice but inexpensive room. I got what I paid for . . . cheap!!!
Very pleased...

Reserved this hotel for a trip to Disneyland due to what we saw under previous reviews. It was a nice motel and was well taken care of. We requested a top floor room near some friends who were also visiting. They had no problem accomodating that request. We arrived early and they still allowed us to check into our room. Their location to Disneyland is very good and the walk to Disneyland was very easy (maybe 5-7 minutes). The room was very clean and the beds were very nice. The only drawback was that our room was right around the corner from the dumpster, so we were awoken each morning to that being dumped. Other than that, it was very quiet and we didn't hear anyone else, coming or going. We definitely will stay here again.
Motel not bad, staff AWFUL
by TripAdvisor Member Sgasrock
We booked this room on super8.com since it was the absolute cheapeast we could find at $50. We later found a cheaper rate on a competing website, and through Cendant's Guarantee, got a free night. After we checked in for the day, we received a phone call telling us our night was no longer going to be free and they would be charging us the full rack rate of $85 and there was nothing we could do (they had a credit card on file for incidentals and from check in). We offered to leave, they told us we would be charged regardless. All of the staff at the front were rude, unapologetic, and insultory. We filed a claim on the credit card and of course got our money back. Now that being said, this hotel is right on the route from the Anaheim Resort Transit System and the Disneyland Express Airport Shuttle. It is only 10 minutes to the parks from the front of the motel, but it is long and there is no rear entrance, so add 5 minutes if you are in the back. For the price you pay, it is not a bad deal at all. The free breakfast is bad, but it is free, so either way it is a bonus.
AWFUL!

They advertise a free continental breakfast, what they don't tell you is that is is limited to ONE day old doughnut and ONE cup of juice. The first room they gave us had such a chemical smell, that it gave everyone headaches. The second room they gave us had a dead mouse smell. The rooms had NO alarm clocks, so you will have NO idea what time it is. They had NO blow dryers, coffee maker, fridge, or microwaves. They have NO shuttle to Disneyland. Their "gift shop" was never open, that we could tell.
Don't plan on staying in your room for very long, and you will be fine.
