Hotel Villa Portofino

ITALIAN RIVIERA INSPIRED

My wife, Sue, and I spent one night here last year and when we returned we had to just look at it again to make sure that it was still the hotel we thought it was. Sitting on the beach front street across from the marina and the walkway to the Casino. On the side street is the Landing with shopping and restaurants. The hotel room we stayed in was on the courtyard and felt a little claustrophobic due to the enclosed courtyard. Liking the wide open spaces and a view could be possible here but the price was right for a one night stay. The fact that the hotel is on the main Street in Avalon is no problem because it gets very quiet at night, so sleeping is great. Remember very few cars to make noise at night. All the amenities as well as a continental breakfast in the lobby. They do have their own Italian restaurant next door that offers fine dining. The Hotel does look the same and perhaps next time we return we will upgrade to a private balcony room.

Unique Quality: One of the great things here is pick-up service from the docks and luggage can be stored till your room is ready. Same thing applies on checking out. It's nice to spend a few more hours lounging around the town without worrying about your luggage. The sundeck at the Hotel Villa Portofino is guest private with a wonderful view of Avalon Bay.
