Awesome pizza place!
by Yaqui about California Pizza Kitchen
This is a wonderful place to eat in Bakersfield. They make traditional and some very untraditional pizzas. We bought our son a traditional cheese pizza, but turns out he tried my pizza with bacon and pineapple and obsolutely loved it. My hubby had a spaghetti dinner, which was really good too. Décor is simplistic, but modern. They have a wonderful patio area to dine at too and the entrance to the restaurant has a beautiful fountain to enjoy.

Bakersfield Murals #2 - Honoring Buck Owens
by Yaqui
"In Honor of Buck Owens"
This beautiful mural which my camera does not give it justice is "Spectacular in person." Plus I could not get all of it in my camera view. It is located at Buck Owens Crystal Palace in the front hall as you walk in. It represents the erra of when the (Oakies)migrants from the dust bowl filtering looking for a new beginning in their lives and shows all the wonderful talented country mucis legends that has graced our hearts and soul.
We've lost recently one of Bakersfield son's, Buck Owens who will be forever remember as an icon of country western music. Bakersfield loves him as much as he loved her and he will be so dearly missed.
