Big Basin has conventional car camping facilities, but it also has tent cabins that rent for $65- per night. The tent cabins are ideal for tourists arriving without camping equipment, but wanting the camp experience, but they are also comfortable enough for senior citizens or families not wanting the inconveniences of true camping. Remarkably, dogs are allowed at the tent cabins. In addition to the tent cabins, and car campsites, there are also more rustic trail access camp sites, and even campgrounds for horse owners with trailers. Plumbed drinking water, toilets, and showers are typical of Big Basin camping facilites. All of these facilities are very popular during the summer season, so advance reservations where accepted are highly recommended. See the link below for complete details about all camping options at Big Basin State Park. This is California camping in the Redwoods at its best.
