I reserved a cabin for late December/early Jan. Does anybody know when it snows a lot in Big Bear? Thanks!
It snows most often in February-March. But they just got a freakish storm, 2-3 feet in November. strange! (you get off and on, about twice a month, under 6" of snow in December. usually. but it varies sooo much!) But they also blow fake snow onto the ski resorts on any cold night, and there are plenty of those. Did you get a cabin in a bunch of cabins (like..I don't know, a bunch of cabins close by, all owned by the same place) or a private cabin? I've stayed up there before as I grew up in the neighboring town.
Big Bear Lake has long been the site of Oktoberfest, which
is a busy time of year for tourists and locals. With a few
ski resorts in the area, the available lodging is sometimes
tough to find during peak seasons. Cabin rentals can be an
option, and Big Bear City, Arrowhead, and other nearby towns
can be alternatives to locate rooms in the event Big Bear Lake area and Fawnskin are booked and nothing can be found.

Big Bear Lake is the cities name.
My wife and I went up to the mountain during Californias big winter of 2004/2005.
These pictures were taken in APRIL 2005. April in the mountains usually means NO SNOW.
I have never seen so much snow up in the local mountains before.
It was amazing!!!
The Picture is of the main highway into the city.
It was slow and in groups.
